Root How to flash a sprint based rom?

Hello everyone I am trying to flash "cool ics" from xda and after installing the zip I just got a bootloop. I'm doing this because I'm in the process of switching to TING. For those that say it's impossible, piERit actually went through the whole transfer with ease so it is possible, but the thing is he's no longer on the forums so I don't know what he did exactly. I also would have posted this on XDA but apparently I am restricted since I just signed up. Anyways any help is appreciated. I've done s-off and everything, is there like a kernel problem that's causing the bootloop?

EDIT: I installed the 1.58 hboot which is the sprint one and now I've got the rom working...


After cancelling my VM service I'm still getting told by Ting, that my ESN is being held up by VM. Apperantly the phone is "exclusive to vm service only" but then again HOW did PiERiT do it because he succesfully ported to Ting??!
 
I think you need to change the hboot.

Once you are able to flash sprint Roms flash a stock based sprint rom and sprint prl. The only reason Ting doesn't accept virgin mobile phones is because of the retarted mms issues. When you flash a sprint rom, and sprint prl you can "trick" Ting into thinking you have a sprint evo 3d, and then it should port successfully to Ting. ;)

If you guys could guide me a bit more I'd really appreciate it...
But thank you for at least giving me some idea of what I should be doing.... **** yeah!
So if I were to update my hboot to the right one, then flash the sprint rom, all I would need to do is update my prl to a sprint one, and that can be done by following leslie ann's guide right? Then the transfer begins.
