[How-To] Force the Official Android 2.2 Froyo Update for the Motrola Droid (FRG01B | Update 1 of 2)

I flashed clockwork from ROM manager and I already had SPRecovery installed.

Restarted the phone and it hung at the "M" for 20 min.

Popped the batt and now phone is unresponsive.

One of hte set of instructions you use the computer to install the update - and thus it *is* connecte to the PC.

The other set of instructions uses the phone only to do it.

has anyone got this to install with sprecovery?

Did you follow the guide exactly and slowly? Since hte file is named update.zip, it should work fine with SPRecovery. If the file is not 45.2 MB in size / the MD5 does not match as posted ( MD5: 2e155b3f08fd2e953ce9c0948cf9eb12) then you have a bad download.

Works perfect!! I did do a factory wipe after the download and that seemed to make it even more smooth.

Trident, thank you so much! :)

Everything went smoothly for me! Froyo looks GREAT!

Things were a little slow immediately after my first boot up (including a freeze and reboot), but after rebooting a 2nd time, everything seems to be running fine! And quickly! :)

I am still waiting (and waiting) for the phone to reboot, but I am looking forward to this update! Thanks to Trident, Google, and Motorola (no thanks to a certain phone company that won't let you tether).

Can anyone tell me if the multimedia DOCK app looks any different?

yeah, quiet a bit different.

When first plugged in:

when brigness turned down (new brightness button looks like a sun half shaded):

Then after left idle for about 5 minutes (time bounces around the screen):
