Root How to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread stock

So many of you, like me, like to try different things. Well, I'm going to tell you how to get the plain gingerbread 2.3 ROM. It has no extensions or add-ons whatsoever except for the ones Google originally put on it.

Part one - Before the After: Open up ROM Manager and select Download ROM. Scroll down and select gtg465x. Now select Inspired AOSP RC1. Select Download and wait for it to install. Click Okay on the popup. Now wait until it downloads and select make sure Backup, Wipe/Factory restore, and Wipe Dalvik Cache are checked. Then continue to install the ROM.

Part two - After the Before: Now open up Market and sign in with your details. Search for ROM Manager and download it. Open up ROM Manager and select Download ROM. Scroll down to LeeDrOid and select it. Now select 'Kernel V3.1.6-CFS-2.6.32.13'. If you do not do this Bluetooth and other functions may not work on your device due to an incompatible stock kernel. Once it is downloaded, do not backup, do not restore filesystem, and do not wipe dalvik cache, just install it. It should boot up and everything should be working perfectly fine.

I have not tested the stock Gingerbread ROM with the LeeDrOid Kernel yet so let me know how it goes. If you have any other problems with your device try flashing 'Kernel V3.1.6-BFS-2.6.32.12' from the LeeDrOid section in ROM Manager.

If you have problems restore from a backup using Clockwork Mod.

I'm totally not following what the OP is trying to do here. He seems to be talking about downloading two separate custom roms through rom manager and there's something about using a different kernel. What does all of this have to do with installing a more or less vanilla Gingerbread rom on the Inspire 4G? Why two different roms?

I been looking for a plain and simple Gingerbread ROM for the Inspire 4g

Part one which is to download the following
"Inspired AOSP RC1" ROM by gtg465x
either by ROM Manger or just google it.

You need to install both of them because the kernel that comes with it isn't stable for the Inspire 4G. It will still be pretty much the same.

Why would you throw a sense kernel (the Leedroid kernel) ontop of aosp? Also keep in mind Inspired AOSP is no longer being deveoped

Does bluetooth work with the leedroid kernel? Would strike me as odd if it did. But by default in Inspired AOSP RC1 bluetooth does not work.

Idk what specific LeeDroid kernel that is but the one I updated to a few weeks ago has bluetooth and everything working like a champ.

Very interesting. I may have to give it a try. I loved inspired AOSP when I flashed weeks back but the no Bluetooth working kept me from using it.

Will have to try a leedroid kernel on top of it. Thanks for the heads up.

No problem. Bluetooth has actually become my preferred method of moving songs or groups of songs from my MacBook Pro to my Inspire.
