Help How to get back touchwiz?

Could ART have been the problem with the phone call?

Any ways I am switching back to Dalvick so I can confirm if it's that or not.

Either or is fine..I would go with M personally bell has less bloatware and updates way quicker than att

Okay I'll pick up the one from sammobile, but it says it was the black version in paranthesis for whatever reason... dunno, and if that one does not work I'll use XDA developers, thanks!

hey guys i dont have knox bootloader so im not sure what dload mode looks like but with what androidlover posted about his dload mode says does he NOT have knox? If not would make things so easier for him

It said I did a custom OS thing on it once already as you could see in my pervious post, isn't Knox a touchwiz thing? I remember using it once... didn't do anything really.

it says custom because you have cm11, knox came with the 4.3 update, its two things one is the knox app which is really for business ppl so all there data is backed up, the knox bootloader is what us rooters/devs hate which is the new bootloader that alerts sammy that you rooted/flashed phone, like i said in previous post hasnt been cracked yet:mad:

I don't think it matters, funny story... once I had to have my S3 in for repair (my phone was bent, one of the things on the back wouldn't snap properly) so whilst that was in for repair, they gave me an S2 to use... it was rooted XD I know this cause it sometimes said (super user granted to blah blah blah) which is what is says on my S3 sometimes, I went to the app and it was clearly not something that came with the phone, haha.

Okay, so is this the file I need? 100% "legit"? OTA updates, etc?

So is it still gonna be rooted afterwards or what? Do I still download Odin to my computer? Do I download Odin 3.07 or 3.09?

This Odin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1165122&d=1340993443

For your device next I will link firmwares as well

So are you sure these files were work and will allow my phone to work properly and do OTA updates?
And why can't I just download odin from this: Download Odin 3.09 - Odin download with Samsung ROM Flashing Tool

Hmm... sounds risky, I'm gonna use the link that DirtyDee gave me.

lol do whatever you want its your phone, the links i provided are safe just to let you know, the reason why you need to use odin that was provided is because of the links we all have provided to you are what the developers said we must use....bit of advice for you next time you decide to root a device

before you decide to do anything like brick your phone, cuz it soinds like me you have no idea what you are doing we are not here to do it for you just here to help guide you in the right direction, whether you decide to do to your phone is your choice and only your choice but you shouldnt do something to a expensive toy without research first.....

Because when I unpacked that Odin on my laptop..it said it was a virus so I stick with xda

Well if I have instructions it should be a breeze, no?

I just really hope that whatever file dirtydees gave me is right... I am still unsure if my phone is SGH-i747 or SGH-i747M

What did we need that for again? whatever..

You might be able to find your firmware in this thread with some instruction that seem...important

Good luck to you

Whaaaaaaa???????????????

How to Flash Official Firmware for Samsung Galaxy [Odin] - W0lfDroid

Could this guide that you gave me before work for me?

And where did you find the file? What does it do? Is it 4.3? Will it make my phone work and stuff? OTA updates? Unroot it? It's still downloading on my computer...

Yes it can work for you , got the firmware all and Odin link from that link. And it 4.3 touchwiz stock just like how Samsung wanted it.

Is that the website where you found the thing? Ookie, I'll start it tomorrow, the download file is almost done, one more thing... how do I unzip the file?

OK, so now you know what I suspected: your phone is an i747M, for Bell in Canada.

That link I provided gave you a download link to the stock ROM, and explicit, step by step instructions as to how to download Odin, and flash the ROM.

You should be set now.

Well if it says it in the safety instructions of the box, on the sticker under the battery, and in download mode that it is... It's safe to say it is at this point :P (even though it says other wise in the settings)

I used dirty dee's but thanks any ways! :)

I just hope I figure this all out

Okay I figured out how to unzip it thanks to google (lol) I moved the folder to my desktop and extracted it via winrar.

One thing I am unsure about is there's a file in there that says "SS_DL.dll" and says the type is an "application extenstion" what is this? Do I need it at all?

Just popping in here:)
I don't know if you are supposed to unzip the file if it is a .tar file to be flashed in ODIN.
Leave it zipped?
Thoughts?

i do know generally zips or for recovery meaning dont unzip, tars are for odin, maybe uploader packed in a zip file?
either way im dloading now will report back eta 8 min as typing

Well the instructions told me to unzip both the odin AND the firmware file, so I did.

What exactly are you downloading?
It was a zip file not a tar it might have the tar file in it

One of them is an MD5 file and the other is an application extension, the MD5 file is the "meat" of the firmware, I have no clue what the other file is...
