for you, yes, for us, i dont think that works on boost branded ones, only public mobile

i wonder if i could use the grep method to make it a menu item in settings though lol, just go to device info and there it is. i know i should be able to add the hidden menu to the options with no problem, that way you dont gotta use dial codes, but actually making the msl itself appear...

The grep method does not seem to work anymore for some reason. I have not taken the time to figure out why, but if/when i do it will be easy to get just the msl to appear in the term...appearing in the menu after clicking it may be a different story lol

And I just confirmed the play store link xxpako posted in the OP works great. The MSL it produced matches the MSL I know I have We are certainly not out of options lol

im pretty sure the conversion method is the same one that sprint uses and the only tool i know of that can calculate a sprint msl from a meid/esn is cdma workshop which as much as i wish i had a copy of i cant afford $100 computer program

Zte phones are usually ok with the caculator method... same privider kyocera phone(Kyocera rise) and it doesn't work... it's more model specific than carrier specific...
