Help How to identify source on notices

I get several update notices on my phone but I cannot determine who/what is sending them. I checked my messages and email and looked for the notice ICON on the top but cannot find any new notices to associate with the notices ringtone.

Any idea how to track down where unknown notices are coming from?

If you are referring to a notice that reads " you have xx updates available", that is from the market notifying you of updates fir apps you have installed. Just click on three notification and it will take you to the market so you can install the updates.

My reading of the problem is the phone randomly plays the notice ringtone and he wants to know what app is doing this.

Maybe you could try looking in the pulldown. Making sure you scroll up to get to something hidden at the bottom,if you have a lot of stuff in your pulldown.
