Help How to install 2.3.4 in HTC Inspire 4G

Hello,

I'm new in the Android world... I switch to an HTC Inspire 4G from an iPhone and I would like to know how can I install Gingerbread 2.3.4 in my new android phone. If you can explain to me all the steps I need to take.. it would be very helpful. Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum!

I moved the thread to the Inspire sub forum so hopefully you will get a response from people with the phone.

My answer would be to root and install a custom ROM if HTC is lagging behind (which they usually do because it takes time for them to add their bloat ware).

Hey thank you very much and sorry for my thread... my bad.

Is there a website where I can read instructions on how to do that?...

Don't ever be sorry for a thread here, we are all here to help.

I honestly haven't ever looked in the forum I moved your post to. Start asking questions in there. If no one has an answer there, I would look at XDA. This forum is much more friendly and informative though if enough people have your phone.

And don't forget to hit the "thanks" button when people help you out.

Can't use a Mac to root the HTC right?
Sure you can. If it's an Intel based Mac, the easiest way is to download the latest Ace_Hack Kit dated 08-10-2011 (that's Oct 8, 2011) from XDA website to it's own folder and unzip it. When it's unzipped, find and print the *EFFEN MANUAL*. Then go to the Ubuntu website and download the Ubuntu 10.10.iso and burn it to disc. Boot to the CD and choose *Try Ubuntu* and it will run as a LiveCD totally in memory. Then read the EFFEN MANUAL on how to open the terminal and type the command to accomplish the root automatically.
Hope this helps.:D
