Root How to install apps FROM sd

I haven't found any solutions to my problem so here it is.

I rooted my phone with unrevoked and installed Cyanogenmod 7 and wiped the memory completely. I wasn't able to back up my apps because I'm stupid and titanium backup didnt work initially so I went along anyway. Now I miss them and want them back. I realized the majority of my apps are on the SD card because I used app2sd. Now the question, Is there anyway to install my apps using the file thats still there on to my new operating system. I dont want to pay for these apps again. All my apps are there just can't install them, please help!!!!

If you used Froyo apps2sd then only part of the app is in the android_secure partition of the card. Paid apps should show up as still paid in the market once you sign into your google account again. I know in all the flashing and reinstalling I have done, they always come up as purchased.

If you were using Dark Tremor then there is a command in Terminal Emulator that will fix the symlinks I believe for the apps.

did you make a nandroid? the apps will be in it that were on the internal, you can always restore and grab them or pull them from the nandroid imgs. For the ones that were moved using apps2sd im not sure how that will go...it moves part of the app and keeps the rest, if your back up backed up android secure it wont be an issue i just dont know if you only backed up the /data part what will happen...?

Paid apps should be remembered by market though...

1) The market from your phone remembers your paid apps.
2) The market from market.android.com remembers all of your installed apps (paid or free) as long as you've logged in before.
3) If you used apps2sd, the only way you're getting them back is to restore a nandroid backup (only if you backed up android_secure), then use titanium backup to backup the apps. Then restore back to what you have now, and restore from the TB backup.
4) If you just want apps that were *not* moved to the sdcard, you can grab them from the data.img of the nandroid backup. I can give you specific instructions on this one, if you need.

As has been said several times already, the part of the app that was moved to the sdcard via apps2sd is completely useless to you. It's like that for two reasons. 1) the sdcard is partitioned with fat32. It's not native to Linux, so only part of the app can be moved there, while the part that Android needs to execute is left on internal storage. 2) The part of the app that's on the card is encrypted anyway. It's like that so that you can't easily copy an app and give it away. Of course, root doesn't stop you (not going to get into that), but you get the idea.

In the future you can save the apps (just the apk file really) with Astro file manager, which would save on redownloading the files from the market. Which doesn't really help too much for games and the sort, but things like dropbox and facebook are fine using Astro to backup.
