Help How to keep screen from locking?

Ok, so yesterday I had to restore my phone to it's un-rooted state (see here for reasons). I had it set up before so that when it was on the charger it wouldn't lock, but can't find the setting now. Can anyone assist me and tell me where the setting is for this?

Home > Settings > Applications > Development > Stay awake :)

Woo Hoo! Thanks so much. I knew it was there some where. I didn't think about going there to look for it. It's funny too, I had set it up like that a long time ago, and then almost promptly forgot where I had set it up in the 1st place. Not long after I had set it up, I decided I didn't want it that way any more and couldn't find it to un-set it. :) When I couldn't find it, I learned to live with it, and then decided I liked it. :o

Also there's an an app called no lock where you can enable /disable locking right from the home screen with one click.

I like that app, but on this phone, the optimus M I dont use it.
While in your pocket the home button is pushed then the touch screen starts doing some wild and crazy stuff, you may take it out of your pocket to find extra widgets, or deleted things, or even pocket dialed.

I have a samsung galaxy prevail, on boost mobile and that I use no lock on because it does not have actual keys for home and menu only the power button will allow the screen, and buttons to come on. So having to swipe the screen after that is redundant.

Does anybody know how to get rid of the dreaded "big grey lock" that appears on this phone? I was able to change settings to "end call with power button" but had a terrible time trying to access the dialpad when listening to my messages. You can't!!!! I had to reverse that and go back to using the on screen end call button. I HATE the big grey lock and would love to get rid of it.

Big grey lock on the Optimus? I'm assuming you're talking about when you're in a call and need the dial pad. I've never had that happen; only on the Ascend when I was using it. The Optimus screen will shut off after a few seconds and will come back on once I move the phone away from my face. The dial pad is available unless I choose to hide it (or didn't access it during the call previously).

Never seen the big Grey lock but try settings > location and security. you can edit phone locks there.

Are you talking about the prevail? if so we have a forum for it.

Samsung Galaxy Prevail - Android Forums

but to answer your question, if it is on the prevail that lock is because the phone does not have a proximity sensor, and if it didnt disable the screen you would have your face moving icons long pressing the screen and doing other weirdness to your phone. And as you found out if you make the power button end call you can not access the dialpad so its a useless option.
