Unlike most other devices, the fingerprint sensor on the honor 5X is not only able to unlock the phone, but can be used to directly launch apps or call contacts depending on the finger being used. Getting everything up and running is easy, but there are a few steps involved. Here's exactly how you do it:

1. Open the Settings app
2. Select Fingerprint ID
3. Select Fingerprint management
4. Enter your password
5. Select Add new fingerprint or select from a current one
6. Select Quick launch
7. Enable Quick launch
8. Select either Apps or Contacts to launch with fingerprint when the screen is locked

After that, using the fingerprints you chose in the settings will allow you to launch an app by pressing the fingerprint sensor on the back while the screen is off. If you set up a contact, it will directly call them.
