How to record a call with Desire HD

landovr

So today I figured out how to record a call with the desire hd. All you have to do is download the Quick record widget from the htc hub and place it on one of your home screens, and when you are in a call just hit the quick record widget and it will record your call.

landovr - does it record both sides of a call? I've seen a couple of apps on the market, but they say that either they don't record both sides or that, with the DHD, they can record both sides, but that it can only record the other person if they are put on loadspeaker!

I know there's a two way recording app floating round on XDA (it comes bundled with my kernel), if that helps?

Will have to have a look on XDA... Don't really need to record conversations, but it is worth having (just in case)! :)

Yes it records both sides. I wasn't on loudspeaker or anything, just a normal call.

I am running 2.3.3

Hi All,
I can't find the "Quick record" widget on the HTC HUB. Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation.

If you go to htc hub and click on widgets you don't have quick record?

Do you have a Desire HD?

What version of android are you running.

No, There is no Quick record widget in HTC hub.
Yes, I have a Desire HD.
Running Android 2.3.3.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Keep in mind though that if you want to use said app with root the KERNEL you use must have 2-way call recording support.

Didn't know that, thanks.

It has worked with the 3 ROMs I listed above, as well as Android Revolution HD, so it will work for the majority

Most do your right...so many people wish they wouldn't as it seems to abuse the battery via the dialer sensor.

I had to block the app via Super User.

I found I'd get the super user toasts at random times when I wasn't on the phone. I'm not sure why the call recorder would need root access when I'm playing Angry Birds??

It's handy, but when you're not using it, it's a pain in the proverbials.

Its why I haven't installed it over the past few builds of LeeDroid. However I can see me doing so then freezing the app in titanium afterwards and blocking its SU if I wanted to dispute a bill or something.

Fine for me. I make a lot of long calls, and my battery last all day. I always have around 35% left after 12 hours. I have WiFi and GPS on and have Juice defender ultimate. But I do carry a spare battery with me everywhere I go just in case, coz I spent a lot of time on my phone during the day

hi have installed but no widget appears to place on home screen, uninstalled re-installed still no widget, restarted phone? still no widget

anyone else had problem? is there a fix please? Tony
