Root How to remove shutter sound

Don't remember what the file is called, or if the path is the same on the Bionic(sent it in because it had a defect so don't have it on me right now), but try using a file manager with root such as root explorer. Go to system -> media -> audio -> ui -> shutter.ogg or something similar. Delete it.

I have a bionic, and it's rooted. How can I remove the shutter sound?

thanks

I have the samsung s3, rooted.

using root explorer (or whatever file manager you have on your rooted device) go to
/system/media/audio/ui/

then mount the folder as read/write

rename file
shutter.ogg to shutter.ogg.renamed

this worked for me for the shutter... but the FOCUS sound still remains even though i renamed:

camera_focus.ogg to camera_focus.ogg

in fact i renamed all *camera* to *camera*.renamed

the sound for focus still fires... it must be stored elsewhere... off to the hunt!

I tried this with ALL camera related .ogg files in this folder, but still can't figure out how to stop the focus sound from within the camera.

NOTE - if you have your camera set to autofocus, you needn't press the screen to focus... it'll autofocus on whatever you put in the white brackets in the center of the photo. When you snap a pic... no sound if the shutter.ogg file is renamed (or deleted)

But this is the Motorola Droid BIONIC forum I just checked my BIONIC there is no shutter.ogg there.

Also, for focusing, if you move the square, it also automatically refocuses.

start the camera press the gear icon (settings) scroll down to shutter tone and uncheck it. Works rooted or unrooted.
