Root How to root after gingerbread 2.3.4 update

Paste root234.zip below in SD CARD

Go to recovery mode T+Power (KEYBOARD T)
Navigate via Volume Keys
Select "update from sdcard" with the CAPS lock key
Navigate to root234.zip
Select "root234.zip"
reboot system
You have a rooted device

No need of custom kernel, SOC or Z4root .AND z4root supports only devices till android 2.2 .Even Android 2.2.2 is not supported since google patched the exploit .

Will this wipe out all my data???

The "Root.zip" file fixed the whole problem for me.

Had a rooted, froyo 2.2 version of 551 before this.
Upgraded it to gingerbread 2.3.6 and failed on many attempts to root it with other programs.

Found this thread, downloaded the file, and was FINALLY able to root the device.

THANKS A GAZILLIONNN!! :D
did this wipe your data

Rooting never wipes your data
Gingerbreak or zergrush wont work on GB .
They were patched by Samsung .

No clue about Droid 2G .The patch was forced by all manufacturers in November-February updates .It was released as minor update .
Carriers have different update policy .If you have firmware update from December 2011 and newer ,chances are it may be patched .

Ah..... I read that you can use like Droid 3 one click loaders. Since theyre 2.3.4 aswell. Do you know if that would work?:D

Probably it will .Some once clicks are Android universal like Gingerbreak some are just manufacturer specific. if your carrier has not patched the exploit then the one click loaders may work .

with my mesmerized I don't even bother rooting. I just flash a custom recovery with Odin and flash a custom prerooted rom from cwm recovery. idk if your device has many options for rooms but that's the way to go for me. it skips the rooting process!

thanks Terszk for the post, been trying for days to root my mini, worked a treat, i've already partitioned a 16GBsd card that's in the phone, but link to sd is now saying theres no card there ? Perhaps i'll remove it and format, then re-partition:)

"root234.zip" has worked on my galaxy mini GT-5570 running gingerbread 2.3.4 (O2 locked)
and also on my wife's galaxy "y" GT-5363 running gingerbread 2.3.6 (O2 locked)
I used this in conjunction with "Link2sd" from google play store.
We both have 16GB sd cards installed, i partitioned mine to1.8GB unallocated, and my wife's to 1.99GB unallocated.
All partitions had to be primary
The larger partitions were set to "Fat32"
on my 5570 the unallocated partition was set to Ext2
on my wife's 5363 it was set to Ext3
I used "mini tool partition wizzard" to format both cards
Thanks to all the posts made by different people that enabled me to eventually root both phones:)
