How to root slate 7?

Hi I am new to all this tablet stuff and have no clue where to start really lol.

I have rooted phones before no probs but looking for info on this Tab I have seems very very scarce.

Its a HP Slate 7 model number 2800 running android 4.1.1 and the Kernal version is 3.0.8+.

Can anyone give me any info please if this is possible to root?

I am pulling my blooming hair out looking for info on this I will appreciate any help given as whoever can help me is one massive star and will make a 9 year old very very happy :)

welcome to AF!!!!!!!!!

yeah i briefly searched the net for a way to root your device to no avail. not sure if it is possible. this is the only hit of relevance that i have found so far: Root for HP Slate 7. not sure if that will help or not.
 
Thanks guys I have seen them but no luck I will read in to this a lot more soon when I am free I have the Tab here now with me so can try a few stuff I am just terrified of bricking it as its my lads should be ok though I learn how to do other things fairly simple.

And cheers ocnbrze for welcoming me to the forums I should have really looked for a say hi section first but I was pulling my hair out looking for a solution.

I have even thought of taking it back tomorrow saying its crashing a lot and just adding the extra

Did not know mate.

I went out on a budget to get my kid his first one obviously did not want to spend ridiculous Apple prices even though now I wish I did spend a bit more as he has not broke a piece of tech I have bought him damn his Vita is still alive lol.

Next time I purchase one I will be doing research I thought any Android product was jailbreakable guess I was wrong we all have to learn though.

Anyhow nice forums here will be checking them out fully as it seems my purchase for my lad has made a few other family members want to get a tab me included:)

jailbreak which is an apple term
here on an android forum:mad:

we like to use the term rooting just an fyi;)
