I want to tether my iPad to my incredible. Can someone lead me in the right direction. I know I have to root and get wifi app, how do I root ? And which app do I need ?

Download and install, but dont open, wireless tether. You cant find it in the market anymore, but a quick seach will find it. Once installed use astro file manager, or any other app, and create a folder on the root of your sd card called android.tether then add this file in there fw_bcm4329.bin. Now finally open the program, you should see it say something like configs loaded, and you should be all set.

I can do this without rooting the phone?

Can you explain this step further? When I go to /root I cannot create a New folder, option is grayed out.
Can I just use Windows Explorer and go to my sdcart and create new folder and drop the .bin in there? If so, which folder is root folder located? (D:xxxxx\xxxxx)

At the end how do I open the program?

someone please give me detailed instructions

I'm running the latest full release of cyanogenmod on my Dink and I can tether my MBP but not my iPad. Is there something about the iPad that may not be friendly with 3G tethering such as security? Anything about cyanogenmod that might not be friendly to the iPad?
