Help How to unlink ALL contacts?

How can I show ALL my contacts in the contact screen so I can delete the duplicates? Since I'm rooted, and change roms and such, I have restored my contacts several times. Now I have 6 of one person, and 5 of another and so forth. And it just keeps building. I keep it to a minimum by not restoring unless no contacts are present, but OMG they still keep stacking up! I now have like 90 contacts, but the phone says I have 384! I want the extras GONE! And no, I dont have 42.3 hours of spare time to do it one at a time!

This is the reason I keep my contacts backed up on the SD card (and computer for safe storage) and not by google.

You can sign into your gmail account from your computer and edit your contacts from there.

Rxpert is correct the quickest and best way is to log into google from your computer. They have a merge contacts in the contacts page if i remember correctly thats where it is however you can merge and Google should remove the duplicates.

Actually, I have found the last couple days, that the solution is the opposite. It was storing them on my card and restoring that was part of my problem. I am not creating or saving any "phone" contacts anymore, and the problem seems to have been fixed. I only store "Google" contacts when it asks now. Google has built in far more intelligence into their stuff. Plus the ability to get online and edit them on a full scale is nice too. Also, when I flash a ROM, as soon as I enter my Google account info, my contacts are back automatically. No restoring or any other steps necessary. (except restoring some FB links so pics show up, and resetting my ringtones on some people.)
