How to use WiMAX LED on HTC EVO for SMS/MMS notifications!

^^^ I dont know if you are serious or not.. so I will answer you.

NO.. it will not..

this app is written for the EVO only.
because the EVO has a special LED built-in for the Wimax Radio. When there is a 4G signal available, it will light up. But the LED was never implemented. So it just sat there. When it was found / noticed buy someone and pointed it out... A dev decided to create an app to use it for other notifications.

No other phone has the LED light just sitting there to be used.

Oh duh I knew that! I forgot I told my friend I thought it was for the EVO only but couldn't remember why.. So will it flash when I am in Vegas in a couple weeks since they have 4G? LOL! J/K

It would be nice if this program would function as a status light too as a option? All my nextel phones had status lights (green for service, red for no serivce) ...not that i'm without service ever really but it is still kinda handy in my opinion :) This programs funtionality is also neat as it is too!

me.. I hate for the phone... to blink.. all the time.. for status. the light will make me look....thinking something is being notified.

it would also be using up battery. (not a lot, but still something)

hey im new to this and i am having the same prob as palmetto... i DL than it says .bin in astro, when i click it it says file type not found. y is this

Best way I've found is to email it to my gmail, then when I check it on my phone the button for "download attachment" says "install" instead.

It's that or save it to your desktop and transfer it over, if you're really having a hard time getting it to save with the original extension.

Still having troubles. Even with the new version... do u email it from ur comp to the gmail than open it on the phone or jus use ur phone to gmail it than open it.

1. download it.. to your computer.. it needs to have the .apk extension. if it is not.. rename it "wimaxnotifier.apk"
2. copy it to your sdcard in your phone (read manual if you dont know this)
3. homescreen>menu>settting>application> put a check in "unknown sources"
3.1 go into mange applications...go into the wimax notifiier... uninstall
4. exit from settings
5. use a file manager like "astro" .. you can get it off the market.
6. open astro.. go to sdcard... find the wimax file you copied to the sdcard. select it
7. select "open app manager"
8. select install....
9. finish and exit.
10. go to your app drawer.. find the wimax notifier app. it should be at the bottom. run it.
11. set the settings
12. exit.
13. text a friend.. to text you back
14. do i really need to tell you more?

edit: changed 3 and 3.1 steps

but you should be a member there... most of the technical stuff/goodies... will come from there. they are hardcore over there.
