How!?!?!?!?

Ive been reading posts on here since I came to this site. What baffles me, is how people say they go from phone to phone to network to network in months. How do you guys do this? I dont get it.

Example: "Oh I'm thinking about returning my Iphone 4 for AT&T and go back to My Droid X for Verizon, then in summer I'm planning on getting the Iphone 5, but a few months after that I wanna get the brand new blahblahblahblah."

?

Even if they're never satisfied, they are paying for the devices. I think that's the point the OP was trying to make.

I know a lot of people just get new lines to get the new devices, that seems wasteful to me, but if they have the money, they can do it.

I'm not willing to pay the monthly price for new lines just to get new phones. I'd rather pay the one time retail price and switch my number to that device and use my current plan, it's more upfront but cheaper in the long run.
If they come out with an Android device with at least a 4 inch screen with a physical keyboard, I'll probably buy it.

Some people have the money to get what they want...

You can also sell the old device to recoup some of the cost of a new one without ever altering your contract, especially if you buy unlocked, full price phones.

People do the same thing with cars ... a new one every few years. And, if you are a celebrity, you can do the same thing with wives, although they generally cost a lot more than a phone or a car.

I dunno how the rest of you do it but I was on month to month with T-mobile so it cost nothing for me to switch over to AT&T.

It seems like some people are willing to pay a premium to have the latest and greatest.

Or some people are just never satisfied lol

This sums it up for me!!

Example... Me and my wife both had Droid X's when we switched to Tmobile for the Nexus S. Sold the Droid X's on eBay for almost $700 combined. Makes paying retail for phones a lot cheaper when you switch a lot and your phones still have quite a bit of value when you sell them.

WOW, you went from Verizon to T-Mobile all because of the Nexus S?

Does Verizon have bad service in your area?

Verizon didn't have bad cell service, but the customer service was HORRIBLE!!!

T-mobile has great cell service here since I am about 10 miles from their corporate headquarters :D and their customer service has been great so far also.

Plus I get twice as many minutes, plus unlimited everything else for $100 less a month (4 Android phones on my plan).

A big reason for wanting the Nexus S is I really wanted pure Google also, I was really tired of custom UIs screwing up phones, and locked bootloaders, etc

Really? I just got a warranty replacement no questions asked.. overnighted. I'm pretty happy with the CS so far.

I was only on the phone for 5 minutes but I will admit I know how to beat the system.

I do love my X, but I also want to move to a Nexus for my next device, I'm just hoping they come out with at least a 4 inch screen (4.3 would be perfect) as I've grown so accustomed to the size of the X, I don't know that I could possibly put up with a screen smaller than 4 inches.

But certainly everything else about the Nexus intrigues me.

The Nexus S has a 4.0" SAMOLED screen. I liked the large screen on the Droid X also, but after having 3.5, 3.7, 4.3, and 4.0 I really think 4.0 is the perfect size!
