Its searching for something to flash, totally normal.
You have to do nothing, wait a few seconds and its over.
Its only for people who know what to do.

Hey everyone. Chiming in because I just got this phone actually, and wanting/needing to root it.

Problem is, as I type this, a fair number of the download links simply don't work. Is there a mirror for the necessary files? Or an alternate method beyond what OP has listed?

I'm atm uploading a stock odexed boost JB rom for flashing in cwm or twrp.
Don't know if it works, cause i could not test, but its made from the cwm backup and you can give it a go.
Will take some hours because i have a slow network.

Thanks, I tried the JB stock Rom. I'm getting an installation aborted error after 2-3 seconds. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Flashed CWM for ICS, thought I was on my way but nope. Any thoughts?

Yes you need to be s-off for the nandroid to be able to flash it, here's a thread in the root section for Moonshine s-off.

Thanks, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I downloaded the stock rom from the link, flashed the recovery.img too but it won't update it from the sd card. I get a "e: unable to mount '/system" error. I hope I'm not bricked!

This is the rom from cricket, you should only follow this guide to flash it!
The link to the rom i have sent you by pm and it isn't downloaded a single time until now! Have you got the link to dev-host or not?
For recovery download this and flash it with fastboot.

I downloaded ROM and recovery. Recovery won't launch, splash screen comes up and then it starts it again (loops). Tried a different TWRP (2.6.0.1) and get this:

E: error executing updater in zip '/sdcard
error flashing zip '/sdcard/jb_boost_2.06.653.5_

E: unable to mount '/system
formatting cache using make_ext4fs...
done.

E: unable to mount '/system

No worries man. If you ever need/want something tested for boost let me know. I'm not that knowledgeable but I'm always willing to test.

Are you sure you have downloaded the recovery for your device?

yes, used the link you provided and downloaded K2_CL (BOOST). It just loops the TWRP splash screen.
