Help hp touchpad

You can always keep it in the family by letting someone use one for awhile. (Like the one I let my mother evaluate to see if she'd like a tablet or reader.)

I'd ditch the 16gb TP for starts, now that you have a 32 gb.

That is most likely what I will do. My family has been the recipients of many a hand me down computer, phone and tablet. I think I like settin' this stuff up almost as much as using it anyway.

The TP 16GB is still a reliable workhorse. I continue to enjoy it. Recent experience with a SAMSUNG Smart TV... my LG phone and my TP run rings around the TV. So sad that the TV and the apps on it seem so immature in comparison. So much better to use the TP than an old laptop, iPad, or iTouchs. My LG phone is being used more and more almost exclusively as a phone. The TP is just solid.

I am still running CM10 with the working Audio / Video from Dec/Jan. Not sure if I should go for one of the more recent builds. Why break a good thing?

Nandroid backup, install more recent build, test/play, don't like, restore backup, no harm done. Like, keep!;)

... can actually do things a normal tablet doesn't, like print.... :D

I just installed Google Cloud Print on my touchpad and it works great. Basically you can print anything from your Google drive, gallery or anything you can find with a file manager (I use estrongs). In fact, you can print to your home printer no matter where you are in the world (it syncs through Chrome). If you need to print to another printer you simply need to log into chrome on the attached PC and authorize that printer to your account.

I've used cloud print for a long time. I never realized there was not an official google version until yesterday when I read about its release.

I think I'm going to pick up a Asus Transformer TF700 with dock on Sunday ($370 from Craigslist). I like the idea of a dock on my devices. It appears to have 4.2 from Asus and there are custom roms available.

Devices I want to keep:

  • Surface RT (for now). Will probably replace it with an atom device with dock (Windows 8 pro, not RT), but will keep my wife's Surface. RT can't run normal Windows apps since it's usually an ARM cpu, which isn't a problem for my wife.
  • Nexus 7 32 gb and my wife's 16 gb.
  • HP Envy 3D laptop (loaded and fast)
  • My mother has one of my TP's so always have that to fall back on (but she lives an hour away).
  • Sony Apple TV

These need to go:

  • TP 16 gb (1), TP 32 gb (2), might keep a 32 gb for now.
  • Touchstone chargers (1 unused)
  • Nook Color (probably not worth more than $20)
  • Acer 20" laptop, huge, heavy, but has raid
  • 2011 Apple Mini. (Have a loaded 2012 Mini I don't use so why have two?)

Got to quit buying devices without selling one first. My mother put the law down years ago and told my dad, "no more new suits unless you get rid of one first". :D

Hey, if you're looking for a place to sell those things, check out the classifieds here if ya want:

There are a few rules to live by there in the stickies, but it's easy peasy!

Nah, I thought I'd do fleeBay.... :D

We were just talking a bit about too many devices so I thought I'd chip in....
Wasn't born yesterday, I know the rules.

Amazon wouldn't authorize my kindle reader on my new Touchpad. I had exceeded the maximum number of devices. I've cleared the list before. I was back up to about 24 devices. Its amazing how many if these gadgets I've gone through in the last couple of years.

I've had similar issues with Lookout. Every device wants to have "lost device" protection, yet I only need it on my phone.
