Help HTC 2.3.3 update!

Did this this morning and had to do some installs and down loads to make it work. So.....did anyone else have problems after 2.3.3?
 
I like the new toggles in the notification bar. Haven't noticed many other differences. I want to find a screenshot app that works with non-root now though. Anyone find one?

I was looking for one to but didn't find any. It seems that screeshots are only available on rooted phones.

I can confirm this ridiculous truth... I could take a screenshot on my original, 1st gen iPhone.

Scumbag Android: Claims superiority over iPhone, doesn't allow screenshots.
 
Yeah. I'm having an issue sending new text messages. When I hit the send button, it does nothing. If I'm replying to someone it works just fine.

Anyone have a clue why this is happening?
 
There is an app called no-root screenshot it. It requires a tethered connection to your computer but it is extremely simple and a must-have if you rarely restart your phone.

As for 2.3.3, i am still having a problem where there are random dead spots most times the keyboard is brought up. It happens to different letters every time. It goes away if i turn off the screen and then turn it back on, but it is VERY frustrating. Stock keyboard
 
I'm having a lot of trouble with the stock messaging app in landscape mode since the update. Just random glitchiness (somehow accidentally bringing up the "delete by selection" screen and then being unable to get out of it, the view randomly starting at the beginning of conversations instead of at the most recent messages, etc.). Nothing major, but a lot of little annoyances sort of adding up.
 
Yep, i'm experiencing the same thing on the messaging app. also, it wont resolve phone numbers to names in the messaging app unless i've called that contact. once i call it, then it resolves.

the whole OS is just glitchy since the update. video issues here, UI lacking smoothness there. really disappointed with the update for not much benefit at all.

I'm running everything completely stock with a handful of 3rd party apps.

does anyone know how to revert back to Froyo?

to fix the sms problem ive been using gosms..it displays the names with no problems

both wife and I are having that issue... :-/... looking for a fix myself... also had random lockups on the phone where it would just hang for a few min... I like the look and overal design but it's glitchy :-/
 
well, i was able to resolve at least part of my problem. I found that when i killed JuiceDefender (something I had since i got my inspire), then the phone has been running a LOT more smoothly.

It hasn't resolved some of the obvious changes in the OS which i will have to live with, nor the video problem i experienced with a game i play, but at least it's livable now.

Also, even without JD, i have found my battery life greatly extended since the update. and I consider myself more than a moderate user. so thats a good thing.
 
Ever since the update I've been getting a ton of lag. Having to restart my phone every hour or so now or it gets so terrible. Only app I run is angry birds and the default messaging app =/
 
Someone said that if they used go sms (in market and free) that it is fine with gingerbread. I've been using go sms for awhile and have had no problems at all with text messaging.

After i did the update the phone has been acting up.. it's been blacking out... not as fast slow to refresh the new text messages and facebook has been slow... i need help hopefully taking to at&t on friday! to see whats up.
 
After my update my phone fips to airplane mode every 10-15 minutes. Even though the airplane mode is not visiably marked in the settings, I can't send or receive phone calls. Very annoying. Can use some help.

Well 3 months ago got my inspire and was really happy to use it
Cuz this my first htc and android was stuck on nokia well i had so
Many good good things in this phone i don't give attention lil glitches
But the other night for the first time connected the phone to wifi and
It said an update available i was like wow kool lets upgrade but...
I am not happy any more ;( cuz phone eats battery like crazy its slower
And hate the background apps plus its att and its drops calls like its a walki talki
And i have this app task killer i baught it and it also works preety good but
After the update i see a diffrance when i was use to open this app it always shows
Available memory so before it was alsy 270 to 360 mb available but
Afteter the update now phone got slower plus when its slows down i restart it
And and once it starts i go to task killer again see avail mem and from start it shows me
230 and by next 30 min it gets to 170 wth?
I hated att for giving me walki talki now android playing with my emotions ;( i want to DG MY OSPLZ.. GIVE ME A SOLID WAY TO DO IT THANX HOPE U WILL IGNORE MY MISTAKES ITS MY FIRST POST
