I agree with the case comment, unless you're particularly unlucky with dropping phones then a case isn't needed, unless you want a case that provides better grip, personally one of the casemate slim cases that covers the back would do me as then i could put my phone onto flat surfaces without worrying about the camera lens scratching.

Although after owning my iPhone 2G i think a screen protector is useful, after i somehow scratched the screen it was really annoying to see it staring me in the face everyday.

Yeah i think they must have just popped up on mobilefun today or yesterday, I'll be ordering from them i suppose, glad it works well, can't be worse than the Zagg one I had imo.

I've sent them an email asking if they are specifically made for the Desire as stated or are they the Nexus covers. They've not got back to me which leads me to think they are the Nexus ones... :(

Yes, I think you are right ..... If you look at the picture of the case on the link you provided, you can see the hole on the back of the case for the Nexus' active noise cancellation microphone .... which the Desire doesn't have.

This buying-protective-cases thing was started by Apple when their original white iPod scratched stupidly easily. Now we are brain-washed into accepting that we should buy protective cases for everything when, really, the original products should be robust enough to actually do their job. Like any other product.

I've been buying cases since my first mobile back in '93, the Motorola M300. I can be a clumsy oaf on occasion so always welcome the additional protection a case will give.

Cases were popular long before Apple came on the scene, it just seems like they made cases popular with so many people buying their products.

As for a case for my Desire, I'm totally stumped as to what one to buy. There seem to be a fair few to choose from but none that have that 'must have' vibe to them.
 
Have people that bought the cheap Nexus silicone case modified it to fit better?

Tried to cut a bigger hole today for the speaker and it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked lol

Hey...check out the above item number on ebay uk...it's a black flip case for the desire with screen protector.
Just received mine today and it's a great fit :-)
It adds a tiny bit more bulk but gives good protection and has all the right cut outs in all the right places and the screen protector is cut to the right shape and size.
Will certainly do for me till casemate get their act together!!!

Been using mine for a week and a half now. Was quite snug to start with but has now stretched to the point where the phone will easily fall out if it's up-ended, which isn't ideal.

I've just bought this, though don't know if I like the flip type or not - we'll see when it arrives.......................

It's really just for when it's in my bag. I'm so used to my wee Sony Ericsson just fitting into the designated phone pockets, and I'm worried this will be scratched - or dropped! :eek:
