I've been following Case-mate's feedback board - individuals can tell the company what they'd like to see!

I suggested the following, complete with link-through to their iPhone version:
HTC Desire ID Credit Card cases (in colours)

I think it's worth watching to see what Case-mate does. My only concern is that, as an American company, they may not concern themselves with the EU market...
 
Bought one from mobilefun last tuesday, 1st time I have ever used them and it still hasn't arrived, so can't review for folks

Really disappointed about this
 
I'd like to rescind my earlier 'big up' to the Flip Case from Mobile fun (Flip Case - HTC Desire)

It is completely awful. The glue holding it together won't last, and I've had to remove the phone from the plastic case once to take out the battery, and cracks have started to appear in the case.

Guess it must be 'get what you pay for' :(
 
I sent Capdase a message via their site's feedback form and they responded today saying that both the Alumor and the Soft Jacket 2 Expose are in production now for the Desire and should be available by the end of May.

I have read on another forum that the metal badge on the front could damage your screen. I suppose if it was forced against it, it might. I just slip my Desire in the other way round so the metal badge is against the back.

Just a precaution, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to damage it like that.

I have levered the metal Krusel badge off mine, it is just held on with a kind of flat staple into the leather. Nice quality, reasonable fit but a little slack, i am worried about the phone flying out, at some point, like a Frisbee. It could do with a simple retaining mechanism of some sort. Ive been using an elastic band.

Yes they have been, but you can see bumps on top of them with button icons indicating which is which.
 
Yeah I noticed that too but if you look closely you can see that there are imprints of the keys on the rubber so it does seem you can use the buttons while in the case, I've been tempted by that case too but am waiting for Mobilefun to get their Desire specific cases on here (not showing on their site yet, just the coming soon and a generic image)

The buttons at the bottom are covered but, if you look at a side view of the case on the Ebay site, it has the button symbols embossed on it and the buttons are pushable through the silicon. And, as I said, it's only 3.99 while I wait for more official ones.

And... friends of mine with iphones have silicon covers that go over the buttons but they still use the buttons through the silicon.

also, This site shows that the desire in stock is black, but the picture shown is graphite.

The nexus case is black, slim and excellent.

I agree, a book case would be good - I may get one when available, if it's as quality as this.

This is a brilliant design, looking forward to a Desire specific one, i doubt the credit card case for nexus one will fit the Desire

Please do! I was looking at getting this after the good reviews, and also for the camera lens cover. Was tempted to get this matte screen protector:

Just to stop the finger prints and help with glare outside and in the car (satnav) but don't know if it'd make the gorgeous AMOLED screen too frosted.
