what do you guys think to this plastic case?

Crystal Plastic Hard Case shell for HTC Desire Bravo on eBay (end time 29-Apr-10 12:57:31 BST)

More robust, so will actually protect your screen.

I'm considering this case because I'm off to Alton Towers in a couple of weeks, so will take a bash-in on the rides. But my concerns:-

1. will be temporary as it will be a bit bulky, so just be using it when I'm expecting the phone to come up to some abuse, therefore will be coming out of the case.

2. as the phone will be coming in and out of the case, would this damage the phone? I owned a cystal case for a Pallm PDA and it actually clips in, so with the desire does it actually rub against the lovely finish on the phone?

For 3 quid, I think I'll give it a try.

This says it covers the screen also, so does that mean we have to open up the front panel everytime we have to use the touch screen???

yes, similiarly to a flip type case? But at least you'll see notification lights.

Thanks. Have u used this case on the desire?? Its gud if it covers the screen also, complete protection it wud be thn, much less bulk than the leather cases and as u said the desire cud be seen. but it says the colour as dark purple. how transparent is it.
it wud have been better if they were more pics-on how much the front panel would open up

If its real you have done well :) Best email Martin Fields site and ask them just in case ;)

I emailed Martin Shields and they said yes it should be real, now I just gotta decide if I should risk ordering it from them after all the reports of them not sending the products after they have been paid. I should be covered if I use paypal but not sure if I wanna risk it.

UPDATE:
I just bought a PDAir screen protector from them at

Thanks for your email.

Sorry we made some wrong informations for the case.
The case has not cover the screen,it is hollowing .
And it's a clear crystal case, not dark purple.
Thanks for your reminding.
We will revise them as soon as possible.

Have agreat day!
Sincerely.

Anyone else think that, as mobiles are meant to be carried and used out in the world, that we shouldn't have to buy cases or protectors at all? Shouldn't mobiles be well-built enough out of the right materials in the first place?

This buying-protective-cases thing was started by Apple when their original white iPod scratched stupidly easily. Now we are brain-washed into accepting that we should buy protective cases for everything when, really, the original products should be robust enough to actually do their job. Like any other product.

Just a thought...

Does anyone know if Tech21 are making their case for the Desire ?

Good news, here's an email I got back from them this morning:

[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]Hi Jase,

Thank you for contacting Tech21.
We are currently working on a range of products for the HTC phone range.
The lead-time for this is 1 to 3 months.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
In the meantime, for the latest news and updates why not visit our website or follow us on twitter and facebook.

Kind Regards
Lara

Received Martin Fields screen protector and have to say great product. Very easy to put on and it is 100% clear, can be washed and re-used.

I agree with you, I have never used a case on any of my phones. My iPhone 3G has only minor scuff marks after a year of heavy use.

Provided you look after your phone you really shouldn't need a case.
