VF upgrade - but from CPW so unbranded and unlocked. So nothing so far. Someone did come out with the suggestion that the carriers may load some bloat in the future via an OTA update but noone knows as yet ...

Don't come with any network crap on so far, but you have
Adobe Reader
Amazon MP3
Sound Hound
Pre-installed
I've already removed Amazon MP3 and Sound Hound from my Desire. I never used them so I wanted them off and it wasn't hard to get rid of them.
If anyone gets a handset with bloatware on it that they don't want they can simply root it (see the one click rooting in the rooting section of this site for DHD) and use a tool like Titanium Backup Pro to either freeze or remove the bloatware that they were previously unable to uninstall.
I'd advise freezing an app first to make sure if you remove it completely it won't cause any problems. Then if it's fine, remove it.
So in theory bloatware shouldn't be an issue.
Hi Lalaland
I (temp) rooted using Vision, enabled start on boot, then removed Twitter and Peep using titanium; the problem said removed, and the two icons disappeared from the phone, however, they re-appeared after a reboot - have your un-installs persisted after a reboot?.
