Root HTC Desire S HBOOT 2.00.002 ROOT?!

Hey. How the title says, I ask for opinions on how to root the htc desire s that has 2.00.002 hboot S-ON. I can't figure it out, as much tutorials on the internet requires v 0.98.000 S-OFF. Please help me, I want to fully profit from my phone's abilities!
 
I'm kinda noob in this domain so i need extra help. I dont even know what a RUU is :( I need help step by step. if someone is wiling to help me i would be very grateful :(

Have a look at xda forums, desire s section. under the general section search for "downgrade" without HTCdev. you'll find two threads.

So in this section look how to make a goldcard (look for my started threads) (I sense you'll need it), then get shell root, then change your misc version, then install the RUU. and finally use revolutionary to get s off to root. its a very easy task even though it seem's complex.

If you are willing to do the leg work I'll help, but if you aren't going to try you are 1 looking the brick your phone and 2 don't expect my help.

Run the fastboot command "fastboot getvar all" and paste the output here for better RUU direction, (remove your imei). I have explained how, search my posts on how.
 
@FoX777 first I'd like to thank you for your kindness. Secondly, I would like to know if there are any risks rooting and doing the S-OFF on my phone. I'm wiling to do the leg work, so I hope you will help me ^_^ SO what should i do first? try method 1 of downgrading?

The risks involved in rooting are not really worth mentioning, the worst that can happen is that you ruin your phone and it becomes a paperweight. Unusable!

Hi all,

I also have Desire S with hboot 2.00.0002 with S-On. Ive seen alot of guides around on rooting it but am now going aorund in circles a bit in deciding which way to do it and which is less risk to bricking..

As I am new to androids and everything that comes with it am I best off using HTCDev and that guide as TheBackWindow advises?

And if I later Relock my phone and want to go down the downgrading route will this be possible?
