HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

I had to do a factory reset to resolve this and I'm not too happy about it.

I have a feeling that MyBackup somehow saved a corrupted file for my contacts. The "My contact card" never even filled in.

I personally like to go into Gmail ahead of time and export my Contacts as a CSV file to backup my Contacts to my computer. I have this fear that if I wiped my Contacts on my phone, Gmail will sync with it the wrong way and wipe out the Contacts in my gmail as well. But that's just me being paranoid. :)

you arent being paranoid. when the first leak came, i didnt turn off sync fast enough. it synced my phone contacts to my gmail contacts, overriding the gmail. lost a list of 200-some email addresses. kinda sucks when that happens.

has anyone found a fix for this? i used MyBackup Pro to put them back on, and it gave me three or four entries for some ppl (im assuming because i had facebook contact linked to google contact along with information input that wasnt in either initially), and any person that had multiple contact cards is now inaccessible.
 
I installed the update about 2 hours ago and my battery is drained, anyone else having this problem after installing the leak?
 
I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but has anyone been experiencing amazing battery life with the newest leak? I used to have to charge at least once sometimes twice a day w my usage. But w the newest leak I took my phone off at 8:30 9 am ish and I still have 35% of my battery at 10 something ish. I used mainly wifi and some mobile network, numerous emails, facebook, lots of web, zillow, music player,phone calls, all normal use. The only change I made was turning off haptic feedback. I've used all the other leaks and am pretty much wowed by this one. I also used to use third party apps like handset, mixzing and opera but right now I'm using all stock. Not sure if that makes any difference. I'll see how it works tomorrow after a full day of work and grad school.
 
What am I doing wrong? I did both the first and second leaks just fine, but I can't seem to do the third... I put the file on my SD card (no it is not named with a (1) or anything). When I power on the phone with the volume up, It shows me a picture of a phone with an exclamation point inside a red triangle. It doesn't go any further - just stays locked on that screen. I have downloaded the file multiple times, even from the phone directly. Any suggestions?
 
I'm thinking it's about time I finally update from 1.5 to 2.1 on my Eris. My only concern though is that I won't be able to get the official OTA update when Verizon finally releases it. Does anybody know if you will still be able to receive the official OTA update from Verizon after having installed this leak?
 
Before logging into your google account on your phone, backup your gmail contacts from google.com/contacts and save them before something screws up.

Got to applications > manage applications > contacts storage (i think) ... clear data on that app, THEN go sync your google contacts.

Volume down and power button? That's what I did and it worked just fine, not sure what a difference it makes but worth a try.

I di not know that.....I'm still running 1.5 but I do run the HTC battery widget....I guess I could improve battery by deleting it?

So, I just loaded this rom on my wife's Eris. Is anyone having problems with their Facebook photos not syncing with their google contacts? I am trying to get that set up again for her.
 
Anyone else notice that Google Voice now calls the bridging number again? I'm running the latest update and can confirm it is dialing out correctly. That's a giant plus because I use Voice for everything.

Yes, GV is working great! No need to use the previous GV version.

I have been having great battery life as well. It was horrid for me with leak v2. I could only barely make it to 5pm on a full charge. Right now it is 10pm and I have 66%. I do use the HTC battery widget.
 
My battery has been running great as well. I am at 34% and my wife is at 80%. She normally doesn't use it as much as I do.

I have read several email on it, some texting, and a few phone calls. Pretty much my normal use and I am normally more drained that this. Yesterday I did get down to the 15% warning, but now that I think back I was using it a lot yesterday.

Tomorrow will be a big test for me, I am riding my bike (motorcycle) and use my phone to listen to music, so I will see how that holds up to and from work plus my normal usage through out the day.

I want the 2.1 features but I'm freaked out about the bugs I read about and the fact that apparently you can't pinch-zoom anymore... something that I really love about my phone. So is it true that pinch-zoom is disabled in this leak or is that a random bug that some people are experiencing? I'm really tempted but I've also waited since November for this fabled leak, I guess a couple more days/weeks/months won't kill me.

I just tried it for several minutes before Swyping this. Sometimes it worked perfectly and other times didnt work at all. It is not as good as it was on v2 for me. Just a minor bug imo, shouldn't hold you or any one else back from getting v3.

Maybe you've just been messing around with it more than usual because it's all new and fun? Give it a few days and it will most likely get better.
 
i tried the v2 of this leak and it had the same file name as the new v3 leak. was tweaking of v2 just saved as the same file name for this v3 leak?
