These missing apps are one of the only things I care about getting an official OTA update for.

I miss having TV.com and would like to try one of the comic strip apps like All In One Comics, but they do not show up either. There are many others, but I can't think of them now. Would be great to see these apps we are all missing show up again..

I know I didn't have to but I had the card in my voyager too and had different app stuff on there as well and figured might as well start fresh and dump all the extra junk. I just overlooked the fact that all my pictures and what not were on there as well. I guess that's what they make recovery software for though.

ok, so i've tried many times to install this leak but am having issues. i installed the PB00IMG file on the sd card, factory reset, re-program phone...

my issue comes in when i try restart the phone with the vol down buttons and phone buttons pressed. instead of the boot-up screen that came up when i installed v2 of the leak, i get a screen that asks me if i want to clear user data, i do this then have to re-progam and still get the same message when trying to install the leak...anyone have any suggestions?

only thing i can think of is the fact that i'm not wiping my sd card. i didn't do that with the first leak w/ no issues though...

Yes, so I won't, but I would like to comment on your comment. A wonderful little spell checker called ieSpell would certainly go a long way towards helping those who are spell challenged to at least keep those who are reading their comments interested to the end. Why I used it just now on 5 words in this post which makes me a pritty smart fella.

Are you pressing vol down and the "call" button? You need to hold down the "call end/power" button."

I am having trouble syncing my Eris now that I have 2.1. The HTC program on my computer won't recognize that my Eris is plugged in. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? The only reason I use it is to install non-market apps, so if there's another way to do that I'd like to know as well.

Never mind, didn't notice that one of the three usb options was to sync. Issue is resolved. I am still having issues with my album art showing up since the upgrade though so any thoughts there would be appreciated.

Quick question.....when I make calls on this version the display does not shut off...anyone else experiencing this or is it just me.

And if you're on the fence about installing this just jump in. You'll love it.

True, but after years of tech/admin work and development on Blackberries I find it safer to have a separate card for this type of action. The chance of corrupting the file allocation table on my main 16GB and losing the informaiton therein is a bit too much of a risk in my mind.

In all cases when I access the HBOOT mode the phone scans the SD card and doesn't recognize the image file. How long are you letting it scan the card? When I upgraded my phone it said it didn't recognize the zip or something at first, but then after I just let it sit and it eventually ran everything and asked me if I wanted to upgrade; up on the volume if "yes" and down on the volume if "no".

It may be that the SD card doing the update requires some of the same directories that are normally on the stock SD card.(if you have room) copy everything onto your new SD card from the stock card and try that.

Nope, I've never done anything different going from leak v1 to v2 to v3 other than copying the newest image file to the SD card.

I downloaded v3 today & everything is smooth so far! I find it interesting that the build number is 2.26.605.4 & on my husband's new Incredible his build number is 1.22.605.0.

When it boots the system scans and goes to the Fastboot/Recover screen after a few non-recognized responses on the scan.

I will backup my primary card and copy the image file to it to try the load with the standard folder config. Thanks for the suggestion!

I downloaded v3 today & everything is smooth so far! I find it interesting that the build number is 2.26.605.4 & on my husband's new Incredible his build number is 1.22.605.0.

Different phones, different builds. It's not like they swipe the Eris version and just toss it on the Incredible, or vice versa; they share some similarities, but at the end of the day, there are major differences in the build due to the major differences in hardware.

Help!

I have the problem that, after the "upgrade," Windows (7) doesn't recognize the phone any more. When I plug it in, I get a popup that says "USB Device not Recognized." I've downloaded and installed HTC Sync 2.0.33 and have attempted to manually install the driver by selecting the "Unknown Device" that shows up in my Printers and Devices control pane and pointing to the HTC driver directory, but windows just reports "the best driver for your hardware is already installed" (even though it also reports that no driver software is installed for the device).

I've attempted to connect the phone to "clean" Vista and XP machines with the same results.

Note that I never get any notification on the phone that indicates that it is connected. Under settings->connect to PC, I've tried all three default connection types ("Charge only," "HTC Sync," and "Disk drive") and the result is always the same.

I was able to connect just fine before the upgrade to 2.1.

Any ideas?

VERY good call. I backed up my SD card and copied the PB00IMG.ZIP to it. Booted in HBOOT, it recognized the file, and is flashing right now!
