Root HTC EVO 4G - Does not load - loops

Hmm...that could be because your sd card is not partitioned. Do you know if that is the case? I don't think I would worry about that now....as long as you have a new recovery, you be good girl!
So, after rebooting in recovery, it boots back into the bootloader screen?
Thats odd.

I do not know if it is partitioned and yes it is loading in the bootloader screen......:( I am not leaving this site till i am fixed - even if i have to redo the entire thing - i just want to be sure that because it is flashed to boost that this stuff will not affect my service

You can flash ROMS without it affecting your boost flash. The only thing that may not be working in some ROMS is MMS (picture messages(, but there is usually a fix for that.

Do you know if you have a nandroid that you made before all of this started happening?

If not, you will have to reflash the ROM, and mikG wipes data upon flashing so you will lose all of your improtant apps ect.

If you have a lot of time to wait I can edit it so it does not wipe ( I've done it before but deleted it after giving to another member in your situation). Its gonna take like an hour for me to upload it.

I really do not have any important apps....i can just flash it again....is there special instructions for this as well?

IF you just want to flash it again heres what to do:

Download superwipe here Superwipe is used in addition of a manual wipe to make sure the phone is a clean slate before putting on a new ROM
Make sure both it and MIkG are on the SD card

Reboot into recovery

Select wipe
Wipe:
Cache
Dalvik cache
Boot
System
Data
SD-ext
sd-android secure

Then go back to the main menu and select install or flash
install from sd
select superwipe
install it

when thats done install mikG

when thats done it will reboot and your all set up

Optional:

go back into recovery, wipe dalvik cache, cache, flash AnthraX kernel

Just as a note to the OP - The kernel you were trying to install I'm sure was PoonSense, which is essentially the stock kernel with HDMI mirroring included.

The reason you got stuck on reboot is because Kernel Manager doesn't flash (anything) properly. If you booted into recovery, navigated to the KernelManager folder and flashed the kernel zip manually, it should've worked fine.

Unfortunately, I didn't see this thread until right now :o.

But, I figured I'd post this solution here in case someone else has the same issue.

yeah i just saw this thanx to your bump, captain. i hope dumbgirl12 comes back. would like to know if the issue was resolved.

and +1 to not using kernel manager or any other XXX manager app. do everything manually in recovery. and the best recovery is amon ra 2.3 IMHO.

also this is a great example to always make a nandroid backup. that way if anythong goes wrong you can always nandroid restore back if there any issues arise after the flash.

hope things work out for you (op).
