Root HTC Evo 4G on MetroPCS

I recently bought a HTC Evo online and I went to this store and got it flashed for 60 bucks and I come to find out that it's running MetroDroid v 2.2. my question is that can I flash another ROM, without losing my data MMS GPS?

yes you can flash other roms. some will work better then others. all the info you will need is in this thread:

Another quick question, I tried to update my PRL, I dail ##3424# and open up CDMA workshop and I conect it to the prot, but whenever I try to weite the new PRL it says phone not answering.

You need to make sure you have the drivers installed. Once you have done that you need to find out what port the phone is on and connect to it. Then you will be able to read and write whatever want.
