HTC evo 4G

My store is getting them on may 31st.. sprint prepaid group rep said it will be roughly $350. But wont know till I get them in.

While Evos are popular and have tons of dev support.... this particular one is a black sheep.... their forum on here only has 6 topics in all things root... and 17 general topics.... but it does have root and an unlocked bootloader so like I said... ill just wait for the community to develops a little bit more

350.00 for a washed down remodd version of a not that great product to begin with,if that's the case any one that buys it is nuts.just sayn

I think he was saying overall, including other forums. Where as this is the only place I can find any help for the ZTE WARP.

I think we are "moments" away from a complete ROM for the warp, and "minutes" away from cm7 or 9 in dev "time" :) might be a few months, but we are close to some good ROMS, here is why I am staying with a warp:

shinjitsu ROM: good stable ROM with power menu, crt, deodex, nice theme etc

wp7 ROM: also stable ROM with, needs a little more work on deodex, crt and could use a power menu

rapture ROM: work in progress, but showing good potential, deodex, b08c based and relatively stable for those blessed with phones that can take the oc kernel, mine did not but I was able to make it stable by adding the non overclock kernel by hroark

CM7 or 9, probably in the "minutes" away category of development, but closer since the kernel was sorted out

lots of great devs poking around here and being lured over here lately :)

At the end of the day, the phone is a great phone once you get it stable, either by sending back defective hardware or updating to stable software (or both in some cases).
 
Just adding my two cents here...I doubt if I go to the evo because my bestie got one with sprint and she has problems with her phone...not issues like the warp but other random things and signal problems so i dont think its a go..besides i just shipped my warp back to zte today and so i talked to a rep from boost last night to switch me back over to my prevail in the meantime *praying they send me a new warp soon* I can even remember the prevail being this small...smh

anyway i asked the boost rep how much was the evo going to be because the picture and the announcement that it was coming out 5/31 was on their website but yesterday it was gone...he said he "heard" it was going to be 249 but that the phone prices always change when they actually come out

sticking with my Warp and eventhough its killing me to have this tiny prevail they got it absolutely going on over there...I activated it, rooted it, partitioned the sd card because of course the memory sucks and put a custom rom on it in a matter of an hour...didnt install too many apps because per zte they should take 15days so I dont want to get too comfortable because I miss my warp already...it took me a week to send it off to them because I kept putting it off even with the FC's, freezes, not vibrating and all...guess im just a sucker for punishment
 
Dylanp laughed reading your post, same thoughts about my old trusty prevail, put ct mod rom on there almost makes me miss the prevail... Almost
 
It's tiny but the mods and themes are awesome and I've been playing with it for just a day but I'm like OMG...I'm going to to blind lol and I feel like I have giant hands and fingers

Just another quick note: I emailed ZTE to let them know that I just dropped the phone in the fedex box today and although they sent me a mailing label for May 3 I hope that it was ok and wondered if I would receive some notification as to when they received it and if they could tell me the usual timeframe for return.....:dontknow: I'm such a stalker at times

Anywho,

They emailed right back and confirmed that fedex had picked up the package and they gave me the tracking number to track it but that a normal turnaround time is 10 to 12 days

I thought that was great and just wanted to mention it because have read so many horror stories about ZTE's bad customer service and I haven't experienced it yet...if all goes well I will undoubtedly stay with the warp...customer service means everything to me:D

Many do not unfortunately.And will buy this phone before they check there area and come back to this site complaining that they just bought this phone and it sucks because 4g wont work lmao.Any way We have 4g here but im still waiting to see what they release @ the Holidays.

Make sure you call boost, and they will not charge you for the entire amount of time it takes from the day you shipped out your phone until the day it returns. ( They will credit you if necessary on the next month).
 
Boost is still going to charge me because I switched my service over to the prevail...the customer rep asked me if I wanted to send my phone to ZTE and have them credit me the time that I didn't have the phone but I could just not be without a phone...I really needed to confirm that them making the switch over to the prevail would not change my billing date because I'd like to keep it the same and he said it didn't...what was neat and I can't remember them doing that when i activated the warp, bit for some reason it would not take the ota activation so he had to give me my msl number to get it working so that was less trouble for me to have to find to root it once I hung up with him

*random note: this may not need to go here but I've been searching the forums and cant find exactly what I was looking for...right before I sent the warp back for about 2 weeks when I would turn wifi on the wifi icon would come up and stay white and the 3g status icon would stay in the notification bar and turn white... the phone worked faster like it was on wifi and my router didnt have any changes, it never did that before until recently, now that I'm on the prevail for the moment, the icons are not turning white so I am just guessing that was the warp slowly dying on me but wanted to know if anybody else had experienced that

I see, yeah if your using another phone they wont credit ya, just tryin to help ;\...anyway as far as what i THINK your saying about the icons, i've noticed that...white = medium signal green = high signal...

Yeah, I will be making the switch!!! :D

Earlier in thread, I said I would get the Evo Design 4G for Boost, but now I think I'm leaning towards the Evo V 4G for Virgin Mobile instead, due to its dual core processor over the single core.
 
Im sure if i could get my hands on the phone when it comes out then i could bring some dev support to the EVO. since they apparently have s-off and root/CWM. i wonder if they have a working source code for it yet. i could easily make an OC kernel, anyways i fixed the warp OC kernel no more signal loss when using wifi :p
 
Well since boost is getting the pho
ne technicaly it wont be illegle to flash the phone since it would be cheaper to bit from somewhere else and just update every thing
 
well... i jumped the gun and flashed an EVO 4g to boost, it works perfect, just waiting to see when the 4g goes up to see if it works.
