Root htc evo back to 2.1 from froyo

Unfortunately there is no known way to downgrade, you'll just have to wait until someone figures out a way to root 2.2

If you did the OTA update then do a hard reset. The OTA update was only an upgrade screwed up a bunch of apps and functions, namely the unit battery life.

Hard resetting will resolve most of those issues and you will love your EVO again. You will lose everything on your phone, but reinstalling apps are simple. Your SD card will remain untouched. Your Google address book will sync when you log back in.

i dont think a hard reset would wipe the froyo software off.. it sucks ughh lol

It wont wipe 2.2 off, but he was saying that problem and glitches will often be set straight when you do a hard reset.
Apps are easy to get, contacts are synced with google, its worth a try to get your phone back running smooth.

Guys, read what the OP is trying to do. He wants to flash a particular custom ROM, not get a clean 2.2. Hard reset is irrelevant here.

To the OP:
I don't know if you're rooted or not, but if you're not, you're out of luck atm. Read the website you linked:
