HTC EVO V 4G Jellybean?

I saw an article yesterday that said Google is rolling out a new version of Play Services that will reduce the fragmentation of Android. I would like to believe that will get ICS users a real working version of Google Now, and a few other improvements which hopefully, will make a JB upgrade less of an issue.

That would be very cool!

Why are we still in the dark ages when it comes to software updates and such? It's incredible and pathetic..this stuff should be so easy and straightforward someone off the street should be able to do it.

Sad

Last week I spoke with HTC and they said that there are no updates and we can only upgrade to Jelly Bean and the version it's on is Ice Cream Sandwich. Says that Virgin Mobile is the one who upgrades and they don't seem to care / want to upgrade at all. I don't know why!

Why is there no way to upgrade to the latest version of software, like Windows or Mac, as they have "OLD PHONES" and at least on Windows PC software, you can upgrade, and with iPhones you can have version whatever and get latest upgrade? Don't know why the phone companies don't care, and think you have $600.00 to just throw around for new phone hardware!
