HTC Gingerbread update.

one thing i was looking forward to was the customisable power widget that is built in to the android one, but tried that and it wont work, just the same as before
 
Well, its now installed and I can't really tell much of a difference.

I like how the new app drawer works though but I can't see what is different about the keyboard
 
Keep getting a force close message for Picasa web albums so I've had to uninstall that until a new version comes out

Yippeedoodahh, finally arrived a few hours ago, onto my DHD UNbranded with Vodafone.

Downloaded, all okay.

HOWEVER!! On my "Homescreen" I had a search icon (magnifying glass). After the update, this reported as "no longer installed/valid". Looked everywhere on my handset for the icon, but couldn't find it. :-(

I then realized the HARD key (search key - magnifying glass) :-)

Anyway.. Has anyone else "lost" the icon, and found a way to re-insatll it??

Oooh. Came back from a meeting to find a notification of an update! Consider 3 apologised to! Note, this is one of those technically unbranded but actually listed with HTC as branded types that have been discussed so I'll feed back as to whether the update brings any Three customisation with it.
 
Ive downloaded this twice now, installed it and both times its rebooted after install but still comes up saying i'm on 2.2.1...any of you getting this, on Vodafone unbranded????

Known issue. Check the XDA forums.. I think there is a fix for this but I forgot what it was...

Sorry for being a bit vague... I check tonight if I have time, bit busy at the moment
 
Can anyone check whether the Wifi issue has been resolved or is this identical to the leaked GB rom that's floating around?
 
Yup, downloaded too. Unbranded DHD from CPW running on Orange. Downloaded started around 1540. Rebooted, no data loss. Seems slightly quicker, not had much time to play.

Is it just me or is txt input easier?, i can tap out a txt much faster with my sausage fingers than before with minimal errors.

I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it was the same as the leaked version :(

WiFi aside, one thing I have noticed is that the APN toggle in Extended Controls now takes me to the mobile network settings as opposed to toggling APN on or off.

They have fixed the lag on the keyboard input. So now you shouldn't get a situation where you type fast and the phone does not keep up.

I haven't been able to download yet.. need to go home and download it.. LOL
