HTC Gingerbread update.

Well HTC replied to me this morning (about an hour ago) on the UK HTC meet-up facebook page saying "the Desire HD will get Gingerbread between now and the end of June."
So I very much doubt this rumor of April 15th will happen.. will most definitely be the end of June or even a few months after that.

I fear that HTC are doing the same exact thing as they did with the Hero. The DHD will receive 2.3 in a couple of months (almost a year after its release) and that will probably be the end of updating it.
Yeah, I expect so. HTC bosh too many phones out too often, they should slow down and focus on creating something amazing and provide good update support instead.
Too right, I didn't pay all that money for them to stop supporting the phone after a few months.
Apple still provide updates for their 3 year old iPhone 3G, albeit with restricted features due to the limitations of the hardware

Wrong, 4.3 isn't available on the 3G, I'm surprised it got as far as 4.2 to be fair.

Why do you say this? The original Desire is still getting gingerbread.

guys even bloody Samsung is releasing official SGS gingerbread official update .. where is HTC this time ? why so late ?
I updated the 2.2.1 last month and I am having problems with it... my wifi doesn't scan or find any router(it doesn't work at all!!)... applications are getting slower and I get lot of force close in most of the applications...i hope the 2.3 update comes soon..but for the mean time can I get some help to make my phone work better.....

Orange UK say they have a current release date for 2.3 on or just after 8th May 2011.
What i ment to say is that they wont update DHD, Z to 2.3 any time soon, as HTC is integrating parts of Sense 3 to Gingerbread. I highly doubt that the original Desire will get the new version of Sense at all! And that will be it for updating those "old" devices
If you are referring to the DHD update, HTC stated (forgot where) that it will be out in June.
My boss spoke with HTC last week as he had a problem with his DHD. He enquired about gingerbread and was told they're still messing about with Sense and are aiming to get it out before the end of June. I doubt Orange will have a build if HTC haven't finished with it yet.

They didn't say in June they said BEFORE the end of June. May 8th is before end of June. I think they will keep updating each device from the desire family every 2 weeks or something like that. I doubt they will release the update for DHD, Z and original desire in one go.
Yeah I think the Incredible S had a OTA roll out a few days ago didn't it?
