htc going to help us fix our "unofficial" updated phones

Honestly, I couldn't care less about updating since there's no obvious difference between .3 and .6. However, it irritates the hell out of me that HTC calls it an "unofficial" update when the build number matches what Sprint said would be available, and the file was posted on HTC's own servers.

There are alot more important things in life to be irritated about, bro, and getting upset over statements from cell phone manufactures is definitely NOT one of them....

Ha, yeah. But it keeps my mind off politics, so I guess maybe its a good thing ;)

omg omg omg... i am excited!!! :)

In other news, i went to my sprint store today to see if they could get me the 1.47 or even just get me 2.2.... she came back and said we checked your phone, and the update hasnt reached CT yet, they are doing it in patches, just keep checking. I wanted to facepalm and laugh, i updated my brothers phone yesterday... but I was in a rush so i just said ok thanks and left.

Wait, I hope they aren't going to require a trip to a Sprint repair center to do this...an OTA patch would be a piece of cake to put together for this.

I ain't going to Sprint store to have them put 1.47 back on my phone.

Isn't HTC working to get us a solution for this?

I am in no rush.

.3 version is as good as .6

I hope this will allow me to go back to 2.1 so I can root and won't have to deal with things like this again. I should have learned from the hero.

After tweaking my my phone to optimize froyo, I could care less if they give us the official update or not. Im happy. My EVO is running better then ever.

Now all I need is a fix for the FPS and Gingerbread!

the only concern i have is for future updates and fixes. i'm in the camp of people with a phone that's working better than ever. from a performance standpoint, as well as battery life.

i am actually afraid rolling it back, then forward could screw something up that presently works fine.

Exactly. We need to get to .6 to go forward from there. The less gyrations involved in that process, the better. Give us an OTC to get there HTC.

You are absolutely right I overlooked that. I cant have my gingerbread now. Come on HTC its your fault you put the so called unofficial link on your official site. Bring it on.

Having said that the next big update wont be for a good while. Im pretty confident HTC will fix us all before then. :D

I think a good solution is forthcoming. and I will definitely will wait for it. funny thing is... i can't bring myself to regret the early update. partly because i was finished before i got a wiff of the statement that it wasn't official, and partly because, i love the added features and functions (of course if i'd had problems, i'd disagree with myself)... and partly because i learned a lot about the phone and the forums during the process.

For those of you with 3.26.yadda.3 without root and a Windows PC - here's the RUU to get you to yadda.6:

Pojoman vs. HTC - The race of the "delayed" 2.2 software fix. - xda-developers

Set your phone to Charge Only and make sure you enable Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging.

Also - before beginning this or any RUU, you might want to consider a good clean backup procedure - here's one now:

Cheers.

Point noted, downloaded it already and read through the thread at xda. Thanks for the instructions.
