Help HTC Hero cannot connect to wireless access point

ravenone

Lurker
I have 2 AP's one is a Engenius ECB 3500 and the other a Belkin Wireless G Router configured as an AP. The security setting are identical in each one WPA/WPA2 PSK. my htc hero will connect to the belkin but not to the Engenius. It can see both phone in the scan, but when I try to connect to the Engenius nothing happen doesn't look for IP nothing.

Hi ravenone, and welcome!

my htc hero will connect to the belkin but not to the Engenius. It can see both phone in the scan, but when I try to connect to the Engenius nothing happen doesn't look for IP nothing.

It's not something simple like the Hero's MAC address being blocked by an access control filter? I've forgotten to add a device to an ACL and spent ages wondering why it wouldn't connect. From the above I take it that the router shows up on the Hero's wifi scan list?

I have tried everything I can think of The ACL is diabled as is the MAC filtering. I have set the AP back to factory specs several times and started over. Every thing in the building will connect to this AP (4 laptops, WII, playstation) evrything but my phone, yet it will concet to the Belkin wireless router sitting in the same room and it will connect to HOTspots up town :-0.. I tried to contact engenius but no response at all. I have even tried different types of encryption nothing got me total baffeled.

ok I will try this after weekend thanks, but the belkin router is set to mixed B/G and it hooks up fine but will try when I get back and let you know
thanks

Some combinations of chipsets in routers and client devices work better than others depending on how they communicate. It's a try.
