Root HTC Incredible 2.2 update

Hey Im new to the the forums, my name is Andrew and I have a bricked incredible and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on how to unbrick it.

So heres the story, I got the phone from my brother and apparently forgot to tell me that its rooted. I installed the 2.2 update from verizon and now it will not progress past the htc incredible boot screen. The security is on. Am guessing the first step would be to turn the s-off right? If theres even a way to unbrick it.

It turns on so it's not bricked. Maybe the first thing to do is pull the battery, then replace. Hold volume down and press the power button. Does it go into hboot ok? If so, what version is it showing? Once you're there, can you enter recovery and if so, is it Clockwork recovery or not?
 
Thanks for all the replies. Sorry it took so long to reply back, I've been a little busy. And yes I can get into the H-Boot its showing 0.92. It does go into recovery but its not clockwork. S is still on. And thank you all again for helping.
 
what method did you use to update?
i think your best bet is to flash the stock 2.2 RUU.
there is a big thread with instructions in this forum.
if that doesn't work then find the thread on downgrading back to 2.1 and flash the files through hboot.
