So maybe some of you haven't seen the Droid X, but I just saw it today... Looks like an EVO copy but I want to know what do you all think of it compared to the Incredible?

I have an Incredible and plan on never moving so this is not a negative thread, just an informative one for people considering both.

My GF is leaning towards the Incredible because she loves how thin it is, and she would not be able to fit the 4.3 in her pocket and with that big hump on the camera, less likely.

So what say ye??

I think the Droid X will be an equal or superior piece of hardware (specs wise) in almost every way, however it is very large. If the build is similar to the Droid's (chunky metal) then it will probably be quite heavy but very sturdy.

The Droid's camera is pretty poor compared to the Incredible's, but the Droid X has a new 8mp camera so hopefully the sensor will be more comparable to the Incredible.

The Droid X does have a multi-touch keyboard which is nice.

I do NOT like the sticky out part at the top.

The Droid X will probably have a better screen.

If you want a smaller phone and like Sense, get the Incredible.

If you want a huge beautiful screen and Motoblur, get the Droid X.

I really think it's that simple as those are the major differences in my mind. (Although I'm not saying the Incredible's screen isn't also amazing...) Personally, I don't want a huge 4.3" screen; can't fit it comfortably in the pocket. Others like the extra screen real estate. And I like Sense as well, so I'd vote for the Incredible. I feel like the hardware is fairly comparable, although it seems like the Droid X will have better video recording capabilities at 720 p. Both 1 Ghz processors, 8 GB memory, 8 MP camera. Droid X has multitouch keyboard. Battery life/call quality comparisons aren't out yet....

it really just does come down to this: large form factor vs. small; sense vs. motoblur.

there's no right answer. just your personal preference.

The only deciding factor is whether you want a 3.7" or 4.3" screen. Whats more comfortable for you?

Both phones are so close in the specifications for hardware its not worth making a decision based on that. Once froyo is released both phones will be amazingly fast. Currently my brother's Droid with froyo smokes my incredible.

Actually the X isn't that much larger than the incredible. Its actually thinner. And battery life is almost guaranteed to be much better. The omap processor blows snapdragon out of the water in performance and power usage. The X also sports a 1530mah battery. early reports from testers put the X's battery life between amazing and unbelievable. You can check out that sizeasy. Sized Up: Droid X vs Incredible

I agree the X isnt that much bigger then the incredible i went and compared my incredible to a HD2 which is similar in size to the X and it was only maybe a 1/2 inch more bigger and the X is thinner then the incredible so it would fit better in a pocket

looks way, way too massive and ugly imo. the evo 4g is huge and beautiful because it makes excellent use of bezel and screen real estate, the X doesn't. if i were to pick a phone that big the EVO would win easily.

out of the 3, (incredible, Evo, X) i'd still pick the incredible based on size, performance, and looks.

Yeah the X is roughly .4" longer and .2" wider (get a ruler and take note of the insignificance of those numbers). While being thinner. If you have a serious problem pocketing the X then chances are the incredible is pretty snug as well. But I do think that hump on the back might make it slightly awkward

It's all about how they use the real estate. And the test model engadget had looks different to the one on verizon's website. Idk if anyone else noticed but the bezel is smaller and the physical buttons look different. Which leads me to believe that they made revisions to the test models.

Yeah I'm sure they didn't it just would have been nice if it was flat rather then the hump. Must be something they want to make weird backs with this and the incredible having a "different type of back"

Yeah. I was gonna comment that it must be the new "thing" making weird backs. I do like the incredibles back tho. And losing sense is an issue to me also, but most of the widgets for it can be found on the market, similar enough for me that is haha

What I really hate is that Engadget puts the EVO Iphone4 and X already ahead of the Incredible. Its so annoying they do not have many articles on the inc Compared to other phones.

Sucks not getting paid huh engadget...

Maybe because these phones are better then the incredible that is why they are ahead of the incredible.

I have an Incredible and an EVO...Seriously, the EVO feels like an Adult phone, and the Incredible feels like a kids phone...SIZE WISE! However the incredible is light years faster and snappier, without a doubt. There not close in size at all, and the Droid X is even larger then the EVO. It looks mammoth in the Engadget video! Also thumbs down to Motorola for putting such a LARGE bezel on it, and adding that mirror finish to it as well. It does look thin, but a tad too wide to handle one handed. The verdict will come when it gets released. I happen to love sense, I just wish HTC's build quality was as good as Motorola's.

I agree

I won't lie the evo and the x are very impressive looking devices but I think ill just wait until next yr for a new phone. If Motorola and htc are putting out this type of heat now imagine next year...and 4g will be a lot more popular by then I just don't see the point in buying another 3g device with most of the same features as my current device. and I am never going to Sprint.

Next year for me... hopefully there will be a droid xl out..lol

If the X is so massive then why is it barely bigger than the incredible and thinner? Obviously they didn't mess up the bezel worse than htc because they add a monster screen, larger battery and its still barely bigger than the inc. and the engadget model doesn't look like the model on verizon's website. The bezel is smaller and the physical keys are different. And check the quadrant benchmark tests for the X. They're under the shadow on there. Omap> snapdragon.
