No. It should shut down before it reaches critical temps. Also, the aluminum is a great heat conductor, plastic is not. That is why the HTC one gets so warm, the internal heat is being absorbed by the body of the phone. On plastic phones all that heat is retained. In short, you are fine putting cases on plastic phones, the One is no different.
WOW!,That didn't take long,four days,over a holiday weekend & it's already here.
Looks nice, even better than depicted in the photos. The phone snaps right into place in the inner plastic shell, all cutouts for controls,etc...are properly aligned/positioned.
The perfect case for the occasions when you want to carry the bare necessities.Has room for three credit cards/license,etc... & room to tuck a little paper money behind the card storage area.
I may end up making this my work phone case,as I would welcome the chance to leave the wallet at home,I've got enough misc. items from work to tote around as it is.
Anyone know of a skin that will cover the phones back and sides fully?
Dropped my HTC the other day (had the extreme guard skin on it) and put a bad knick on the aluminumbumper near the power button hoping to cover this without the bulk of a case..
I like that skin but doesn't show if it covers the top or sides really..
The white between the aluminum on the silver one my gouge is basically a 1/4 inch left of the power button on the aluminum that is on the backside of the phone.

The YOU-TUBE video review mentions a spongy/squeaky fit, along w/no protection afforded on the top & bottom edges.
Also, it appears the cut-out for the mic on the back of the phone isn't aligned/centered.
The mic isn't covered, but, this flaw that is present on SPIGEN'S own site doesn't bode well for the quality of the case,IMHO.
Know what I hate about that case is the big Zero written on the back. WTH? The phone looks cool enough, how about just a clear case itskins without names all over the back?

Just picked up the black one for my black one. Looks sweet and certainly the thinnest case I have seen on a phone thus far. Decent scuff protection but I doubt it would do much in a fall. I like the fact that it covers the top of the phone unlike the other thin cases that leave both the top and bottom open.
I am hesitant about purchasing items from the Chinese. I don't want to carry around a phone cover that could be filled with mercury or lead. $1 isn't worth a life time of medical bills. I know this is a little extreme but I'm cautious. Congrats on the $1 case though. I hope it will last.
Glad I got mine when I did then! Lol, as soon as I saw the article, and saw the photos, I decided why not... it's $1 shipped and its the thinnest case! I figured I needed a colored one in addition to my all black Atmosphere case.
Yeah tell me about it. Mine came DHL from China. Only took 2 days but it cost almost as much as the case to have it shipped. Makes that $19 case almost $40 bucks. They did throw in a lanyard, nice looking pen, screen protector, and cleaning cloth. The packaging is first class. Too bad I couldn't find a US distributor. They seem to put out a quality product.
