Has anybody had there desire repaired by htc and if so exactly how long did it take? i got told by car phone warehouse that it takes up to 4 weeks but i dont think it will take that long.

Did you deal directly with htc or did you go through the company you bought the phone from?

Delt with them via the help section on their site. Tried to help with the fault on line, then arranged pick up through UPS when it still didn't work. The pick up went fine, but they couldn't find the phone over the first week due to them booking it in under the wrong tracking number, and it being the week between Xmas and new year. They are pretty helpful, and got my phone back all fixed :)

Mine has been back to HTC via Carphone Warehouse twice in recent months for the same problem. Both times it took approx 4 weeks from handing over to CW to getting it back.

What was the problem with your desire? and did car phone warehouse contact you when they received your phone?

My Mrs's's's' phone had to be sent back yesterday.
They're changing the motherboard after the constant rebooting like a lot of other people have had to do. :(

It was delivered by UPS to Milton Keynes this morning after being picked up yesterday so i'll keep you informed how long hers takes.
I suppose it all depends on how many they've currently been sent back, not expecting it within 3 weeks tbh :(

On the plus side, i've had mine since last April and never had a problem with it, so sod her :D

I got mine back Tuesday of last week and it was sent to HTC the monday of the previous week, so that's 4 working days if you exclude transit and the weekend. I think my motherboard's been changed because I've got a new IMEI number so I count myself very lucky on the turnaround time.

Just like you I used the 1661 as a back up. That black and red abomination never got used in public though. :)

I gave mine to o2. They sent it off on Monday and returned it on Friday :D.
Guess i got lucky

They replaced the motherboard aswell

Mine was turned around in less than a week. I contacted HTC directly on the 10th and it was collected by UPS the next day and shipped back to me on the 17th.

Imagine my dismay then when UPS promptly lost it. Tossers. I'm now waiting for them and HTC to complete their formalities - a 'tracer' procedure which takes eight working days to complete, and has to be carried out before I'm issued a replacement.

Dads wildfire through carphone warehouse took 7 weeks. That was jest before xmas though with the delivery delays. Even then though, the carphone warehouse guy did seem surprised at the length of time

My Desire had a problem with the touch screen not responding. Touch wood not had a problem since I got it back. CW have an online tracking system so you can see where your phone is and also when it is ready to collect. That said the second time I got a post card from the store saying it was ready to collect before the online system had been updated.

Had an email today from HTC saying saying the phone is being shipped back to me today from Milton Keynes for delivery tomorrow.

They picked it up last Monday, the 24th January so hopefully if it gets delivered tomorrow it will have been away just over a week.

That's not bad imo....fingers crossed it's fixed! (serial no.changed so i presume motherboard changed)

Just been on to car phone warehouse and apparently my phone has been repaired and should by ready to collect tomorrow, so that's a total of 14 days, which to be honest isn't that bad.:)

Got the phone back today.
So 8 days in total including transit.
Very happy with that.
Incidentally, the handset had been unlocked and debranded from T Mobile by me (not rooted though) and i sent it back to HTC in exactly that state.
They sent it back locked to T Mobile and with the branding back on it.
Not bothered about that, easy to rectify again but at least it might answer a question for anyone still worried about their warranty if they do this.

My wife mailed in her HTC One A9 for warranty repair work early August, 2017. We still don't have it back. So almost 2 months later and several phone calls, all we're hearing is, parts on back order, and other excuses that don't sit well. Not having a smart phone this day in age isn't unmanageable, but it's sure inconvenient.
