HTC Rezound OTA is here

^ @TT - uh oh. Is that because you have a dfferent launcher?
(mine's the standard HTC launcher - all my apps/icons/pictures/files are still there/working)

Oh crap. Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight...Mine started automatically so I hopped on here to find out what the heck was going on. Still going through the update...

UPDATE: Didn't lose a thing . . . Just see the five bars (I have all in 3G) and am waiting to see what else changed.
 
The speedtest.net download/upload numbers look about the same for this time of the day. However the ping time is better!! The web browsing page find/load feels snappier/better now. It used to be high-40's to low-60's milliseconds ping time (just like cellular), but now it's mid-30's (almost feels like a laptop, but not a laptop) to low-40's (in milliseconds).

edit: I should say my numbers are for 4G LTE (not wi-fi)
 
I just got a notification for an update. Has anyone installed the update yet? My experience with HTC is that the updates sometimes break what wasn't broken in the first place. I think I'll let other people go first....
 
OTA received this afternoon without any problems. I can't see any improvements beyond another bar to view. At least I suffered no ill effects. Man when something is working as well as my Rez I hate messing with it.
 
I tried to, but since I'm rooted it downloaded, rebooted and went to the Recovery Screen..
So in a nutshell, It wont work if youre rooted
 
I did. Its shows in about phone I got it. But I only have 4 bars at top instead of 5 like they said we would get. I also had to manually reboot. It didn't do it on its own. I checked with xda and several having problems with it.
 
I have abit of weird info. I went back into settings and software update, checked update stats and showed todays date and update was successful and then hit check new and it wouldn't open. So I factory reset and it allowed me to do the update again. it worked this time. So if this happens to anyone else. This worked for me.
 
@leroybrute that will be correct. When I did it about 2 hours ago... after installing and checking for updates again it didn't open the page. But i just tried it a minute ago and now it says "no new.. update.." as it has the latest update already. (I didn't do any factory reset.) bye

Shoot - I updated - looks like everything works fine.......except my phone tirned into a nexus ......:)
 
I havent received an update notification yet :/..

I briefly read that it may improve signal? which would be cool..ive been having issues retrieving 3G a lot lately...and it was weird today on campus, it only displayed 1x but still slowly loaded data such as news and pandora somewhat(I thought when 1x was being used, you couldnt use data). I just wish friggin 4G was in my city instead of every random town around me!!!!!!!:mad:
 
i dunno... earlier i didn't wait, but forced it... went to Settings - Software update - Check new ... and then it shows up there...

No, I was using the stock launcher. Very frustrated... Still trying to configure my phone.

It downloaded fine, then got stuck when it was unpacking... I just sat back and let it do its thing... When the phone finally rebooted, it asked what language I wanted to use and then I knew it was messed up. Lost everything. It's like taking the phone out of the box (except for the fact that it is still activated)..

All of this so I can see 1 more bar on the signal strength.
 
Noticed the call button is smaller due to them adding a hide/view keyboard button on one side and a contact voice search button on the other side (while in dialer)

Can't swear to it bit call quality seems to have improved.

Have you guys gone to Settings>Software Update to prompt the update? I'm going to wait it out as long as possible. When the Thunderbolt updated, a few days later a lot of "My Thunderbolt reboots constantly" threads started emerging.
