HTC Rezound OTA is here

Ok... downloaded the update but didnt see it install. How do I manually install it?
And when I try to Check New it doesnt do anything...

Man, phone works perfectly now didn't even plan on updating to ice cream sandwich because of the bugs and lag I went through with that. Is there anyway to prevent my phone from pushing the update without watching it 247

Maybe do the ...Check New and then they have a Defer button there. (?) (other than the do-it-now button)

I believe the 3 options are "OK, Defer, Reject" once it has downloaded, if you can get to your phone fast enough you can select reject (I think it only gives you a very short window). There are obviously problems with this update... I wish VZW would have given the option before automatically pushing such a new update.

I'm too scared!!!

System update>check new>………

Sceeery! If it were me I would reboot phone and give it a shot. I figure you have to do it sometime. But I'm not you so use your gut. I had a problem with mine but I factory reset and it redownloaded fine. The other 2 we have took it fine.

i downloaded the update at 445pm.....still hasnt installed. and ive rebooted a few times and power cycled it twice..nadda

On one of mine did same thing, so I factory reset and it allowed me to start the update again and all is well with it now. Just a suggestion.

I downloaded it and it didn't install so I rebooted phone... nothing. Then after about 10 minutes it gave me the option to redownload so I hit OK. Redownloaded and installed with no problems so far!

The software downloads but doesnt install. Wonder if its because my phone is unlocked and rooted.

I tried to, but since I'm rooted it downloaded, rebooted and went to the Recovery Screen..
So in a nutshell, It wont work if youre rooted

it will work if you reinstall the stock recovery. FWIW,it snuck in on me. i just got my rezound and didnt even know what firmware it was on,let alone there was an update

luckily i had not replaced my stock recovery, just unlocked and rooted. update went fine,im now on 2.01.605.11. being unlocked didnt affect it,and quite surprisingly i still have root acess. i expected to have to reroot.

Ok went to watch a DVD with my wife and came back to check how well my phone was charging and what do I find? Not only has my phone downloaded the update but it's installed as well. I don't know how that could happen on it's own and there was no one in the room with my phone while it was charging. I put the phone through it's paces to see if everything was still functioning properly. The good news is all the apps and software seem to be working fine. The bad news...
this is my last speed test before the update:
4G1.jpg

and this is how the next 4 looked after the update:
4G2.jpg

Isn't the first test on Wifi?

"Network:LTE"

Is that the same pic you'be posted (using wifi) before? I'm thinking the 40+ was a fluke.

I was looking at the icons at the top of the screen. I see 4g on the bottom pic but the wifi icon in the top pic. I also see LTE beside network so I guess I'm confused. this my first Android phone so lots to learn.

He ran the test on lte. Screen shot while on wifi for the first one. Screen shot on lte for the second.

Got it. That makes sense.
Thanks!

FWIW my phone works fine after the update and my speeds are unchanged HOWEVER, I'm in the backwoods on 3G, no 4G.
Phone call quality seems better. It was sketchy in my office but sounded fine this morning....so far....

OK just d/l'd. It said it was updating and I walked away, and it's shut off? Is it spost to boot on its own, or do I need to. I don't want it to mess up because the last gingerbread update on my Incredible wiped my phone and sd card in the update process. It took several weeks to not be mad about that one anymore.

Today is a beautiful day.... the sky is blue, the sun is out and my rezound is still working :)

Here's the speedtest from this morning. The morning time is usually the best in this area... and I have multiple new records even without trying hard! In the past (with old firmware) they were typically 20 to 32 Mbps and almost 35 at one time. Today's run with the new firmware (same time/hour of the day) ranges from 30 to 43.50 Mbps. (Happy!). bye.

(edit: all tests/numbers are from indoors; not outdoors)

The INC2 also got 5 bar from the last OTA.
its cool.
it's located in systemui.apk
so if ur rooted on a custom rom, once the dev incorporates the new OTA into the ROM it will have this.

yes... do not touch it... leave it alone for 5 to 10 minutes. It will reboot a few times during install. Eventually we'll see the usual HTC desktop/main/screen and that's when we can use/toy with it. Bye.

OK. Mine's back up. Anyone else notice birthdays are now changed to 1 day late?

Old scenario it would show Facebook birthdays as one day behind. Example someone's birthday is May 5, 1961. It would show May 5, 1961 in the phone entered birthday and May 4, 1961 for facebook.

Now it shows May 6, 1961 in the phone entered birthday (and when you go in to edit it, it will show the correct date, but save and it shows the wrong one) and May 5, 1961 in the facebook birthday.

It's like they entered a patch to update all the birthdays one day (to fix the facebook one) and it addressed the phone birthday which DID NOT USE TO have a problem and now does.

Does this make sense?

Edited to add:

I just realized I bet this is some leap year thing that the system is messing up with...
