HTC Sensation - Unlocked Bootloader

OK guys, the news you've wanted has come!! Going by Paul O'Brien from MoDaCo he's received an email from HTC saying they are going to unlock ALL bootloaders from now on and probably unlock existing devices. No news as to when it'll actually happen but not long to wait for root now!!!

that's your own addition, htc hasn't said anything of the sort (yet)

where exactly do you think he implied that?
looking at those tweets, i don't see how you could possibly interpret any of it as retroactive unlockings being probable

not that it matters what this paul thinks; i wanna hear it from the horse's mouth

You won't have to wait much longer supposedly as the Sensy will receive updates to remove the boot lock in August, however the software update then to open the phone will not arrive until Sept and then only when all carriers say okay to it...
I read this in the news this week...can't remember specifically but I will post it later...

Personally Im desperately waiting to get rid of the Vodafone screen that has a very sharp logo above the amateurishly smudged out text beneath it. Not very professional for a HTC flagship handset...

Quick stupid question: I got my unlock code - but it says if I proceed it will delete all personal data.. Huh? How can I backup everything with an UNROOTED phone?
