HTC Sense UI vs Launcher Pro

What music widget is that? I'm guessing its 2 rows tall?

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. The Launcherpro plus widget gives you the popup option to call, message or email when a contact is pressed rather than just going to default. It is fugly though.

The Sense widget can also do this. Set the default contact action as "View Contact" and next time you click on it you will have the option to call, text, email etc.

I think you need to give it a go to see what I mean.

Simple question before I try Launcherpro: Is it possible to switch back and forth between Sense and Launcherpro once the latter is set as default UI?

Thanks in advance

Is it the one called EasyHome? That is the only result i get from searching HomeSwitcher in the Market.

Alright, Google is my friend: I can see now that it's two different apps. However when I look up Home Switcher I can see that it doesn't support Froyo which I just upgraded to earlier today.

Perhaps I should stick with sense so far. Don't want to loose the oppotunity to switch back if I don't like the others. Eventhough Easyhome installs an icon to switch to other UIs

I like Launcher Pro...a lot. But not having that Mobile Network widget kinda kills it for me. So I guess i'm choosing functionality over looks

I'm running on a stock desire with sense UI. Just installed launcherpro a couple of days ago. Was wondering whether i should force close those sense apps that are running in background. It seems like whenever i close them, they will automatically appear again on the running applications.

Besides clearing data from the HTC Sense, is there anything else i can do to optimize my battery life supposing if those apps are running in background.

If you want to minimize the # of apps that are active/idle in the Sense Launcher, and you're not going to use Sense, make sure that you don't have any widgets on the Sense screens. You're left with the Sense core processes that I don't think you can do much about. That's what I've noticed with my phone with the stock launcher.

I dont like Launcher Pro because, for the un-rotted, its like a system that should be on the phone from the start AND that warrants probs for those un-rooted...

LP is quite big (in size - a few mb's) too.

Tho' I do like Launcher+ & Launchbar....

I flip between Sense & the above as mood takes me lol
