HTC Sense UI vs Launcher Pro

I noticed when I was playing around with Launcher Pro that I was not receiving notifications for my exchange email account. I believe gmail may have worked.

Is there any way to have my exchange email syncing every 15minutes and have gmail syncing through push?

As long as you still have a HTC sense version of android, you can still use the HTC email app. The settings are in there.

So I did try out Launcher Pro again and found what the problem was. I do receive the notifications but the problem is that I do not see an unread email count on my mail applications.

Is there anyway to resolve this?

did you try:

menu > preferences > dock settings

there you have the option to show missed calls, unread sms's and unread gmails in the dock.

I am referring to icons on my homepage not on the dock. I also would like it to report unread count for my exchange mails.

but, in theory, the dock icons could be on all your screens and not just your main homescreen.

anyway, did you also search the market?

you could download a free unread email app or an unread Gmail app or a missed call app. they would all give you a notification.

Lots of chat about the merits of Launcher Pro which i cannot dispute having been a loyal user for some time, but the introduction of the sense style widgets started to cause 10-15 sec freezes whilst they were updated, especially when coming out of sleep. I tried turning Widget locker off, setcpu went , yet i still got random freezes.

Uninstall LPP and wen tback to Sense and everything is fluid again. Search the forums and you will find similar stories to mine, so stry it by all means, but some peeps will have issues. Its not all rosy :)

so is there a htc clock/weather widget for LP?
i also like all the toggles, replacments for those?
and what about the htc music widget? i like that is there a replacement?

I'm running LPP (not rooted). I'm a brand new user to Android as of Friday. I love the customization of LPP, but I was curious to know if I want to switch back and forth to Sense UI can I without uninstalling LPP? If I have to do that then want reload LPP do I have to pay for it again? Someone please advise. Thanks.

You won't have to uninstall it, let alone pay for it again. The quickest way to switch back and forth is to use something like ClearDefaultHome (QR code below).

The slower way is to go into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications. Tap the 'All' tab, select the launcher you're currently using and hit 'Clear defaults.' (it should also show up in the 'Running' tab since it's, you know, running) Then hit the Home button on your phone and it will ask you which you want to use: Sense, LP, or anything else you might install. Check the box if you want the setting to stick around until you clear it again.
