HTC Sense Update Features (Not HTClive.com)

When I read the post on Phandroid I was excited to hear that HTC is finally going to put out a service for remote locate/wipe. This should be a fundamental feature in all smart phones considering the amount of personal data we put on our phones now a days. If the manufactures won't make it standard, than at least the phone companies should.

I went to the HTCSense.com website, but it requires a log-on. Anyone know where we sign-up? An estimated time of arrival of this service would also be welcomed if anyone runs across it from the blogosphere.

Per BGR...

Here is a list of some of the new features:

The boot time of Sense has been cut down to 10 seconds.

DLNA support is built in to allow content streaming to other DLNA devices.

A new incoming call screen slides up from the bottom of the screen instead of taking up the entire screen.

Maps will now cache data to facilitate quicker map rendering.

A digital compass is utilized to allow the map to orient itself to the direction you are heading.

The new Sense focuses on letting you control and interact with your data instead of merely presenting it to you.

When will we see these features???!!! The boot up time of the Desire Z is soooooo fast....

Another thing I noticed in the hands on from engadget is a new feature in the notification window when you slide it down it has like a sliding dock of apps that are accessible...looks pretty freakin awesome IMO

Give it time, they just made the annoucement several hours ago. More info will start to flow out from HTC and other sources as it's presented.

Also noticing... looks like the sense stuff is actually rotatable now? Damn i hope we get this for the incredible, a lot of nice changes in there.

i wonder if the rotating home screens (landscape view) will be an option for devices without a slide out physical keyboard? it's not a big deal, but i did like it on my old droid.

the new sense ui looks pretty good though. nice to see htc keeping a lock on the best stock ui for android.

The question is.... Will the bluetooth finally be fixed?

What problems are you having? Can you link me to a thread where you are discussing these problems so I will not derail this one? So far the Android 2.2 upgrade has fixed all my BT concerns.

Bluetooth is still broken for a lot of people.

I am unable to pair the following devices-

Wii Remote
BT Keyboard
BT Mouse
Certain vehicles

The BT stack is still incomplete and HTC is denying everything.

Is Sense on its own updateable? Or would this require another official HTC ROM update? I'm a little unclear as to how integrated Sense is within Froyo. Guess I should start paying more attention :-)

From what I read on the engadget site we will be able to sign on to sense.com, however the tweaks will only be available for new phones. I hope this isn't true, but at the bottom of the article it said Availability: and stated the new phones that were being released.
