Root HTC Sync w/ rooted EVO

Hello,
Anyone else run into problems with HTC Sync after rooting.

- rooted using unrevoked 3
- odexed OTA Gingerbread update (no custom roms/themes obviously)
- HTC Sync version 2.0.40
- Win XP Pro version 2002 Service pack 3 (work laptop)

Has been working just fine for quite some time now and now the sync summary says synchronization failed. errors: 1 general (sometimes 2 general) and error due to: Synchronization could not be started.

Not a big deal but was kinda handy for transferring contacts to and fro. Anyone else running into this? Could it be the root, gingerbread or something specific to me?

Sorry for aking so long to check back, things have been hectic at work. Anyway, I should've made the connection...new OS new supporting software...sorry for making everyone point out the obvious.

So I updated HTC Sync to both .551 and .557, neither worked. I am experiencing the same issue when HTC Sync was in its infancy. Phone scans for HTC Sync on my computer and does not find it. I used to be able to overcome this by rebooting everything and trying again. It was hit and miss until they repaired HTC Sync and it worked well after that. Sadly, I'm back to square one. I've rebooted, reinstalled, battery pulled, disabled fast boot and rebooted and vice versa, disabled anti virus on the pc, wiped dalvik cache and cache etc etc...no go.

Any idea what's going on guys?
