HTC Sync will not install!

I have a Hero with 1.5 installed. I am wanting to upgrade to 2.1.

I have tried to install HTC Sync to do so, but get the following error:

Error reading setup initialization file

I have tried different versions of the software on various operating systems, but no joy.

Could anyone advise if they have experienced this?

"Error reading setup initialization file" sounds like the result of a corrupted download, but you say you've tried multiple times? The latest version of Sync that supports 1.5 is here. I've successfully installed it on both Win XP SP3 (x86) and Win7 (X64).

Very strange, I downloaded the application again and it worked fine. Must have been very unlucky to have downloaded two different versions that both became corrupt!
