HTC Vigor err Rezound's battery life?

What are we expecting as far as battery life? I know when the TB came out people were claiming 8 hours of daily use. I would actually kill for that kind of battery life on this thing....

Its going to be a hog no doubt, let's hope the dual core will help it instead of hurt it

lets also not forget battery life is COMPLETELY dependent on what your doing/how you use the phone. no matter what generic numbers they state it will largely depend on too many other factors to make a reasonable guess

Correct, because who knows how long screen is lit for, how much Facebook syncs, how many emails etc, calls bt etc

I think the battery is gonna be better then the Tbolt . I had the Incredible before this and with a EVO battery it was easy for me to get 1.5-2 days of use out of it. The thunderbolt I get about 10-15hrs so it gets me through the day I bought a car charger not too long ago and I just plug it in when I drive to and from work maybe 15-20 min of charging a day and that probably extends my life closer to 18hrs

That's almost the exact time I get out of my TB. I too give a little juice to my batter during the ride to and from work. It seems like battery life is only an issue for me when I'm on vacation, out of my routine. Otherwise, it really isn't a problem. HOWEVER, I do believe it would be nice to get improvements with my next phone. As I've stated before, I'm hoping the Vigor moves us in the right direction battery-wise.

I notice that as well , weekends out of town etc my battery seems to die a lot quicker . When on vacation I usually will just throw an extra battery in my back pocket not the most convenient thing but not awful . A little extra juice would be nice. Then again if I was to turn of LTE or mobile data all together I can really extended life.

I just got my Vigor battery in and I'm using my TB to charge it. I just hope it's not some cheaply made counterfeit battery that's had some HTC logos slapped on it. It's actually covered in a red plastic as opposed to the black plastic from the TB battery.

I've been keeping a close eye on the Amaze...And I gotta say,,,If the Vigor was similar and had decent battery life...I'd be all over it, I can deal with sense...But HTC's track record of battery life is just so terrible...Hopefully that trend of terrible battery life will end with the Vigor!

Here's the packaging for the Vigor. If you have a keen eye, or hell even if you don't I'll direct you to it, look at the "Compatible with" number on the lower left corner. When you do a search on Google for that model #, you get all sorts of hits...

more info on where you ordered it? sorry if its been posted already

lol, I guess I'm not the only one with a bad memory ;) It's the link I posted above from Amazon. I think their 3rd party vendor is Mobile City or something similar. I'll have to find the invoice. But it was ordered through Amazon.

And just as someone else mentioned it, the Thunderbolt has no problems with the battery. I may go ahead and throw it into the Thunderbolt to see if I get better battery life. I'm going to guess that the battery life I get in the TB isn't going to be drastically different than that in the Vigor. Granted 2 cores where 1 doesn't need to be constantly on isn't going to be as much of a battery drain as 1 bigger core constantly on. I think I'll throw the battery in now and report back later.

So in order to keep a log of the battery life, I'm going to pop in a fully charged Vigor battery (has been sitting fully charged for about a week though) into the Thunderbolt in about 2 minutes (I have to sign off here) so to mark it, lets say 12:45 PM CST at 100% charge. I'll report back later tonight when I typically throw the phone back onto the charger.

Oh and I'm running a Gingeritis ROM with 3 email accounts that are set to push every 15 minutes and the HTC weather widget reporting every 3 hours.

For the record I woke up at around 9:30-ish today with a full charge on my original TB battery and it's already at about 20%....sigh

LOL, I hope not since it says "HTC standard battery for Thund" below the barcode in the pic.

You do know that the Vigor/Rezound/etc was also possibly going to be called the Thunderbolt 2 right? I say go ahead and do a Google search on the "ADR6425" portion and see what comes up. And then when you're done with that, do a Google search on "ADR6400" and FINALLY, do a search on the original Thunderbolt battery to which you'll see a 1400mAh battery and NOT a 1620 mAh battery.... Let me roll your eyes back to you smart guy.....

Jeez, just an off-handed observation that I thought wa s good for chuckle. I have searched most terms known to man that could possibly be related to the Vigor, just like pretty much every one on here. Testy much?

4 hours later I saw 50% battery life which seems much better than my stock TB battery. To be fair I was on the phone with Verizon for about 70 minutes, did some wireless tethering for 30 minutes, and did some gaming as well as online banking which was about 30-45 minutes while in LTE mode. I'd say even if you have a Thunderbolt and are only considering the Vigor/Rezound/Thunderbolt 2 the 1620 mAh battery seems like a decent upgrade from the stock battery, and it fit inside the stock Thunderbolt battery cover.

I guess we have a different opinion of what the " " emote means. To me it came across as "That's not a Vigor battery because of the "thund" on the package, so either you're stupid or trying to pull a fast one". To which I posted up why the packaging might have the "thund" sticker on it. No harm no foul.

I'm just trying to provide some information for everyone out there since battery life is a big concern for many people regarding this new phone. I'm actually hoping that this battery is exactly what I can expect from the Vigor/Rezound/TB2 when it comes out. About the only variable I won't be able to factor in is how a dual core setup will affect battery life. I'm hoping it affects it positively because while 8 hours of decent usage out of a phone isn't that bad, I know it can be better. I think I typically see about 2-3 days of use out of the iPhone the company I work for provides me so I definitely know it can be better.

The reasons you're seeing better battery on the i*hone is a smaller screen, no 4G LTE capability, and no true multitasking. The first 2 reasons is why we didn't see the most recent i*hone with a larger screen and 4G capability, because they would have similar battery life to what we currently see from 4G android phones.

The absence of true multitasking is why the i*hone will always have an edge on android as far as battery life. Like I said in a post on another thread, an i*hone is like a netbook with Windows Starter, which has limited multitasking, hence better battery life. An android phone is like a Windows 7 laptop, you can execute more operations at the same time, but at the cost of said battery life.

Until either apple puts out a phone that has all of the capabilities of an android phone, or android manufacturers put out a phone with similar multitasking, 3G, and hardware as the i*hone, there will never be a way to truly see if apple is superior as some say, or if they're just limiting their device's capabilities (hardware, connectivitly, and multitasking) to make them seem like they perform better.

The same can actually be said about Apple computers and Windows computers. The only problem I have is that the Windows computers tend to have the Apple computers beat on paper when you compare them by price, but then you break down and actually use both computers and the Apple is just much more stable. Granted you can't tweak the hell out of em like you can the Windows machines but sometimes you just want something to work without much fuss. I'm thinking if the iPhones ran flash natively and iTunes wasn't so damn strict about its content and it was 4G compatible, I'd seriously consider one.

forgive me if I'm being rude (i don't intend it to be)..

But!!! did we find out if Patchnauty has a Rezound/Vigor???

lol, don't worry I think if you're rude we have hall monitors to smack us on the wrist... ;)

I think I asked where he got his hands on one too! Inquiring minds want to know!! Although I'm sure he can't say anything if he's on the inside. I'm just glad he can provide us with any information and I'd probably feel bad if my inquiry got someone fired.

Nope, sorry. Was more like I'm sure it was sold and packaged as Vigor battery, but ironically it had Thund written across it as you were testing it in your TB. There is no "ironic" emote, so I went with next best thing. Sorry for miscommunication.

Been off line for a few days. How did your battery testing go?

My mistake. I guess if Jim Schwartz can mistake Jim Harbaugh's slap in the back for a shove then we're all only human! ;)

As far as the battery testing, I used both for about 4 hours but the use was a little more intense with the Vigor's battery. After 4 hours with the stock TB battery I had about 20-30% life left. With the Vigor battery after 4 hours I had about 50% but with the Vigor I was on the phone with Verizon for over an hour so the battery life with the Vigor's battery may have been better after 4 hours. I definitely noticed a difference but I'd rather see what the bigger battery would do inside a dual core phone since I'm thinking if the phone only uses 1 core for basic tasks then battery consumption should be much more efficient. I'm ready to slap this Vigor battery into an actual Vigor/Rezound/TB2 phone.
